Girls, I have just read every posting in this thread, and my heart goes out to all of you.
No woman should have to suffer the way you all have.
I despise any man who could treat anyone like that especially a woman.
I hope you all find the answer to your problems, and can find true happiness in the future.

Wow...its not often i sit and read every strand in a conversation, but you lot had me totally...i dont know the right word...engrossed maybe...i cant believe the things that men are capable of....When i was a baby, my mom had to take me into a battered wives home...she was only just 19 herself.
My real dad beat her, poured hot fat over her, and all sorts.

I never found this out until last year... i knew he was a and was abusive, but when he got in touch last yr, my mom, and my brother and sister from his second marriage started comparing tales....He'd done the same things to there mom.

Maybe thats why my mom beame abusive herself...i dont know, to this day ill never understand., still trying to make excuses for her, although i have nothing to do with her...i watched her terrorise my step dad for years...She was lovely most days, but then she'd flip, and start throwing things, knifes, beer cans and allsorts at him, beating me til he pulled her off me.
When he left, She hit the bottle... I tried to help...i had to carry her up the stairs myself, when i was going through a phase of severe depression myself, but i couldnt turn to her, i had to be strong, try and help her....When i tried to stop her from drinking anymore, she threw a bottle down the stairs at my head...If she hadnt been so Iit wold of hit me, as it happened, it knocked out part of the coving round the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs...
Then, at the end of lasdt year, she turned, totally flipped....drove the car at me.....We havent spoken since.

All im trying to say, is it aint just violent men....My hearts go out to all of you that have posted up in here, it really is awful, and im glad Romani has finally got things sorted. What the council did was attrocious...Just for their paper work, they put a woman back into a situation that could of been fatally dangerous...nobody knows do they...anything could of happened, cuz the council made her go back...Thank god it didnt though.

But as i say, while its all women postin there experiences in here, i know theres men out there too....just to let them know, they aint been forgotten....

to all of romani's friends and everyone else who is interested.

i texted her yesterday and she is well. she has now relocated and is getting on with her life. her texts were a lot happier than some of her recent messages.

i am concerned about your last posting.

through all of my problems, and that includes a very messy divorce as well as my present problems...... i have never ever once considered suicide.

i know ive had it light, compared to some of the women in this chat stream. but my attitude has been.... why on earth should i give these 'men' the satisfaction of letting them win everything?.

life isnt a game and your attempt at trying to end yours just to see if it works, if you want to play games, then try monopoly or scrabble.

Nice to see you on here abit more often.
Were still here unfortunately but my story is being followed up by the BBC South East team.As soon as we move I shall let you all know and then it may go quiet for a while.I shall be back on via my pc but I don't know if I shall be able to get back online as the Paladin so I shall change it before I go just in case.
At the momment I swing between cheerful optimism and depressive apprehension as to what will happen next.But on the whole I'm just trying to get through each day as best I can.
Anyways I've just had a phone call from the BBC about the follow up.
I wonder if there is a page on here about what happens when a BBC film crew enter your life and that sort of process
An idea for a future article methinks
That will be funny,turning the tables on them and writeing a different perpective on things

It was on BBC South East last week.There will be a follow up article though when we move as Andrew has asked if he can film us on our last day here.
I've only had one person shout out in the high street that they saw me on television and I had a phone call about it too from another friend.Loup may have seen it if he watches the BBC news for the south east or he might be like us and only be able to get the BBC london one so I haven't seen the programme at all I only thought of that a while ago and I hope he didn't AAaaarrrggghhh!
