Spicy food...very spicy food.

Evangeline Posted Jan 27, 2004
I cook quite a bit of spicy food, too. Mostly Cajun food, sometimes Tex Mex, and lately a bit of Thai experimenting.

With me, it's mostly East Indian, bit of Cajun, bit of Tex-Mex...some Thai.

I probably shouldn't say anything, but I contributed a couple recipes to it...some time ago.

Sorry for disappearing, real life interfered
And now, I'm fading, so I'm gonna call it a night. I'll do up something hot and spicy tomorrow, as I AM the Keeper of Green Chile!
'night, all

Well, just got back from the Doc's office. They took out the stitches, which made that feel better immediately! They put on some steri-strips that I leave on for 2 or 3 days, then I'm to do scar massage with aloe or vitamin E, which will reduce scarring, and supposedly reduce the sensitivity of the area.
I do have RSD, the weird nerve condition we discussed earlier. He's optimistic, though, that since I'm in early stages, therapy and the nerve block they did during surgery should get me past it. I guess the nerve block wasn't JUST a precaution for the surgery, but is actually a form of treatment for RSD.
I'm in for 4 weeks of therapy, 3X a week, at least. He seems to think the wrist issue is a done deal, I just need time to recover; if the tendonitis in the elbow doesn't respond to therapy, they'll do an MRI, then possibly surgery on it, but he seemed to think that getting the wrist sorted will help the elbow get better too.
I re-start therapy next Tuesday, go back to the Doc in a month.
Thus ends this evening's medical report

Yay! No more stitches!
Vitamin E, being an oil or cream, won't evaporate as quickly as aloe. Aloe is wonderful, but needs to be re applied often. You did know I was going to comment on that, didn't you?
I hope the wrist issue is sorted.

I was hoping you'd comment, Evangeline! I may wind up using some of both. I've already got aloe, I can just pick up some vit. E.
I'm quite happy to have the stitches out, as they were getting itchy and bothersome. I'm not as convinced as the seems to be that the wrist is sorted, but I sure hope he's right!
How're you this evening?

Vitamin E and C taken internally help tissues regenerate faster. I would follow the previous suggestions to keep inflammation down(avoid certain foods and take bromelain) just to give it every opportunity to heal properly.
I'm okay this evening. Already had an hour long nap. Just sat down to do a bit of surfing and writing.
What are you up to this evening?

rangerjustice (formerly warrior ranger) Posted Jan 29, 2004
Not up to much, actually. Just ate a light dinner, am alternating between surfing and TV.
Quite the little social , aren't I?

The most activity here is the zipping around the house, for no apparent reason. Oh, wait she's done now and is retired to the top of the monitor...
I'm sitting in front of my computer trying to make sense of something and not having much success. It's a people issue, not computer problem.

My is currently outside, and both are curled up on couches in the living room.
Personally, I generally find computer problems infinitely easier to deal with people problems
