There really should be a .
I hear there are withdrawal symptoms from not being on H2G2 enough... I'm not willing to take the chance

Just popping in for a minute to check my threads. Am gonna go into town later and get some different pain meds, the Lortab they gave me was making me steadily more sick to my stomach, and the woozy feeling wasn't getting any better
Can take off the dressing this afternoon, see what it looks like...

Just got through changing the dressing...
The incision hasn't closed up fully yet, started bleeding as soon as I removed the bottom layer of gauze. Doesn't look infected or anything, but it does look scary! Rinsed it off good, ran some alcohol over it, dried and bandaged it back up. I'd like to put some neosporin on it, but the Doc stressed to use a DRY dressing, so that's what I'll do, for now at least.
And on that note, I think I'm going back to bed for a while, and trying not to think about it

Oh, Evangeline...I though you & Ranger would be interested to know I've got some iridescent green Mardi Gras beads. I volunteer at a local Jazz & Blues club http://www.yardbirdsuite.com & about a year ago we had a pianist named Eddie Bo up from New Orleans. Of course he was backed by a local band, & at one point in the show, he had them throw out handfuls of beads...kinda neat, huh?

Yeah, I guess it would look fairly nasty yet Ranger . Just take good care of it...sounds like you are! Hope the drive into town wasn't any trouble. *Gentle, careful*

*cringes* Alcohol?!
Incisions heal (properly) from the bottom layer upwards. Neosporin is oily and that might prevent proper healing. Arnica, taken internally would be helpful for the pain and bruising.
I took a look through the Yardbird Suite site, nice. I'd be happy to send you more beads. A local bakery, Gambino's, will ship King Cakes anywhere.
s for everyone.

I think the Arnica would be your best bet, Ranger!

I'm much better than last week, thanks. Around Wednesday it looked almost safe enough to come out of hiding.

Hi guys!
The beads sound , Jazz! I've got some purple ones that I'm quite fond of, one of my friends' brothers gave them to me.
is right about the alcohol, Evangeline, but when it was bleeding and looking ugly I figured I better disinfect before I wrapped it back up. Hurt though!
The ex-nurse who volunteers for us came down last night, said it's looking just like it should. Of course, she saw the cleaned up version, not the scary one! But it made me feel better anyway. And the way she talked I think she'd been dying to come check on me, so I'm glad I asked her to come take a look
Glad you're safely out of hiding, E!

Hi, WR
Would this be a good time to mention that colloidal silver doesn't sting?
I have never ever wanted to be a nurse or doctor. We had to take first aid and CPR in high school in order to graduate.
The Universe is off picking on someone else this week, so I'm out of hiding.

I must admit, ugly words were spoken while I was administering the alcohol
I've no desire to go into medicine, either. I've had a fair amount of basic training, and can cope with emergencies as needed, but I don't care for it
My occupational therapist, on the other hand, was terribly disappointed she couldn't talk the Doc into letting her watch the operation. Just can't see the attraction, somehow. She desperately wanted to see it, I desperately wanted to sleep through it!
Maybe the Universe will cut me some slack for a while, too
