Lots of great suggestions. I'm mulling it all over. I'll need to pick out the next theme by April 1, so I have some time.

Surely h2g2 is one of those places where you need to be careful what you wish for? I think you have quite a number of options to choose from by now

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Feb 27, 2010
Barbarella One of my favourites films. I hear they're remaking it... and surprisingly, I don't mind as long as it's done right. Hey, there's an idea - originals of remakes! Get Carter, The Italian Job, The Ladykillers etc, etc.
Seriously though, if you want to make this a success you need an angle, and there can hardly be a better angle than watching a film while feeding your face with home-cooked food. If you can sell it and make some money for the library so much the better. A cosy, comfortable ambiance, good food and a film. Sounds like heaven to me

Hey, that is a good idea. (see post 17, this post is responding to it.)

Yeah.
How about all five versions of The Four Feathers? You wouldn't need to bother with any other titles.

In the 'odd couple' vein, of pairing movies, you could do a straight Star Trek together with Galaxy Quest (one of my all-time favorite movies).

What! Dr Phibes one of the worst movies? Never!
Edgar Allan Poe
A couple of other films you could add to that category is ‘The Pit and the Pendulum’. I thought that it was one of Vincent Price’s best, and quite scary as he wasn’t playing it for laughs like Dr Phibes. Or The Masque of the Red Death, also VP, or Premature Burial with I think, Ray Milland.
Being 2010, you could try pairing 2001 (the best film ever) and 2010. I’m still waiting for the first sighting of 2010 in the TV schedules this year.
Producers theme:
I‘d try Stan Kubrick. You would certainly have a variety of subjects to pick from. I’ve just recently seen ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ for the first time. That might not be entirely suitable though.
Sounds like great fun

There. I just finished watching The Ladykillers.
I was going to make a comment about the colorization, that while it was pretty good I wondered why they would make it so obvious by giving Herbert Lom a purple suit and Peter Sellers a light blue suit with an aquamarine shirt and bright yellow socks.
But then I watched the trailer and saw the title that said, "Colour by Technicolor".

Wizard of Oz and The Wiz together? Classic and not-so-classic? (although I'm sure I'll get some arguments on that one).
Classic Cult Night (do this in the summer, outside on the side of the building): Rocky Horror Picture Show (and encourage people to dress up).
There's always a Monty Python night.
A marathon of the Lord of the Rings Movies.
Kurasawa Movies & their American Equivalents.
King Lear and Ran.
And if you want the worst movie ever, I give you Liquid Sky. An 80s New York art film. Blacklight, aliens in a glow in the dark frisbee, spoken word art that no one should ever attempt and OH! a woman playing herself AND her gay male rival. Uh huh. That's right. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085852/

My intuition tells me that a couple of MR's suggestions wouldn't go over very well in Little Doodah.
