There'll be a balloon or a candle or both in West Yorkshire, Hypatia.
What a wonderful, wonderful idea.

I will be on the coast on Wednesday evening, so will carefully symbolically release a non-marine-life endagering balloon for F.

I'm pretty inland here so I got a balloon this afternoon.
I wasn't sure where to get one but I asked at one of those high street card shops (well known brand of) and they had them behind the till ready to fill up with helium.
It's a large red shining star ready to be let go from Prees Heath, 8.45 Wednesday.

I shall give his balloon from New London, Ohio a grand send off!
I will even put the flag at half staff!~
I am directly across from the American Legion and shall ask the Chaplin to
have all the fellows stand in honor and say a prayer!
P.S.!~ biodegradable balloons are only about one dollar more!~ We sent a dozen of them off when my friend Steve died~!

Oh, Hypatia.
Sheffield will now be on the list too.
A guy I know lived in Braintree (though now he's in Peterborough, which is maybe 80 miles north [?])
Nonetheless, I'll 'phone him when it's daylight to see whether he can fix something from the authentic location. You never know. He's used to odd requests and he's kind, and this one is really
Thinking of you. In fact you crossed my mind just last week, when Verminette came home from school and announced that librarians are the most helpful and committed people she's met (my words, but the gist of her sentiments)

Hypatia.
If we can find a balloon tomorrow there will be one flying from one of the highest roads in the North Pennines too. Otherwise just a vanilla scented candle.

I must say, as a Cherokee Medicine Woman, Frank's spirit will be given an energy that most people never have when they 'cross the river'. With so many people thinking, saying, praying, etc. the man will have the energy of many!
If someone misses the time/day, it won't matter all that much as time is not the same on the other side. It's the amount of energy put into the thought!
Frank's spirit guides will also benefit from all the energy!
I just want to say thank you to everyone for helping my friend in her time of change.
When a door closes, a window opens. This, what is happening here, is the same as many windows opening all at once! Please offer your balloon to the four winds, Mother Earth and then release it to The Great Spirit.
God Bless you all. This is very important.

Whether it is a clear sky or not, I shall go out tomorrow evening and look to the skies and thank the Universe for one Frank Oliviera. He will be closer now to us all than ever this world would allow.
"Flying free"
Thank you, Frank and thank you Hypatia.
In Love, ed.

Blue-Eyed BiPedal BookWorm from Betelgeuse (aka B4[insertpunhere]) Posted Dec 21, 2004
Hypatia,
Include me in the memorial for your dear friend and husband, F, on Wednesday at 2:45pm. I should
just be traveling back from work and can release the balloon overlooking a branch of the Missouri River. Send info to tabyweeks at earthlink dot net. I'll post it on something durable and send it winging its way into the blue. I'm believing you'll get a contact from it, as well.

Thanks, Witty. I drafted the message from an iPAQ (our company provides the neatest toys!) and hadn't scoured the whole thread at that point. I got back online at a full-fledged PC and got the info I needed.
Hypatia, failing a return address, may I include a reference to the H2G2 site so that anyone finding the note mayhap would drop in?

Certainly, B4. Any of you may add a personal message if you wish.
Thanks so much to all of you. Frank will get a real kick out of all this.
He'll know about it. I just know he will.
