My Favourite Book

We all love a list. Here's the results of the ABC's recent poll for Australia's top 100 favourite books. The one I voted for came in at number 8. Perhaps I should've posted the address here before the voting closed, it may have got number 1! Oh well.

Take a gander:

The stupid question files

Me: You have such and such book overdue, it's a picture book. Did you return it today?
Borrower: No, I don't think so. Is it a children's book?
Me-in-my-head: How many adult picture books have you read lately? smiley - silly

Lady-on-the-phone: I think I left my library card there, has anyone handed it in?
Me: Hold on, I'll check for you. *Has a look, no one's handed it in*
Me: Sorry, it's not here. If it turns up, we'll post it out to you.
Lady-on-the-phone: Do you need me to give you a name?
Me: Ah, no. It'll be on the card. smiley - tongueout

Feel free to add more stupid questions to the. . . Da da! Stupid question files!

The plaster is off!

Yay! I went to the hospital yesterday and the took the plaster off my nose.
It is still a bit swollen, but not too badly.
Doctor says it will take quite a few more weeks yet before the swelling disappears completely.
After my hospital appointment, I spent the afternoon in the city with my sister.
We had lunch and did a bit of shopping.
We also went to check out the 'Band in a Bubble'
It seems Regurgitator are sealed in the Bubble for 21 days recording a new album.
The Bubble is in Federation square, Melbourne.

Today was my first day back at work. I'm pretty tired. Luckily it was only a half day and tomorrow's my usual day off. Full day on Friday though.

I'm back

Hey. I've been off-line for a little while. I know you all missed me like crazy

Anyhow, I'm back and feeling better. I've had corrective surgery on my nose. I'd been on the waiting list for a while and they called out of the blue. Someone had cancelled and they asked if I could come in Last Thursday morning at 7am! The call was Tuesday morning, they didn't even have time to send me a letter!

When I came home from hospital I was nauseous for about two days! Anaesthetic really isn't my thing.smiley - ill Also I looked like I'd just lost a prize fight. My eyes were puffy purple slits (good name for a hard rock band?), I couldn't see very well. I could only breathe through my mouth. Not very pleasant. Every time I'd wake after dosing, my tongue felt dry and cracked. Ughhh! smiley - tongueout

As I type there's little bruising left and a slight amount of swelling. My face is a quite attractive shade of yellow. I can breathe through both nostrils! I still have the plaster on my nose, it comes off in about 10 days.

I guess the best part is, I've still got the next 10 days off from work.smiley - zen
