The Movie

I'm at lunch a the moment, and haven't got a lot of time to spend in hootoo. Just thought I'd drop in to say I saw 'The Movie'smiley - towel yesterday.
Has anyone else seen it?
I really enjoyed it. I was really pleased with how it turned out.
Of course afterwared, I kept thinking of all the different bits that weren't in it. You can't fit everything in though.

I really like the dolphin song.

Now it's in my chest

I was almost better until I went to work on Saturday.
Damn stupid building was too cold! About 1pm, I realised I was feeling a bit chilly. You know how it sort of creeps up on you? It was 32ºC (90ºF) outside, and I had to put on a woolly jumper! Ridiculous!smiley - weird It was too late though. I could feel the chill in my chest, and my throat got progressively sore over the afternoon. By Sunday morning I couldn't speak. Not fair! It was my one-Sunday-a-month off. Once again, my body waits until I have a holiday to get sick. I was going to go bush!
Did take today off work though. smiley - erm Chest still sore, but throat feels better.
Now I've got annoying Bon Jovi on the radio, and I'm too lethargic to bother leaning over from my bed to change the radio station,

Brilliant, first long break I've had in ages.

What happens, I go and get a cold. Idiot of a body. That's what sick leave is for! *slaps self in head* Ugh, shouldn't have done that.smiley - ill
I'll probably be better by the time I have to go to work. smiley - rolleyes

Stuff 'n' Nonsense

I haven't made a diary entry for ages, so thought it was time for one.
First one for 2005. Wow, I've been hanging about hootoo for almost three years!

Christmas here was largely uneventful. I got some nice pressies Hope everyone else did. What was your favourite or oddest gift? The oddest gift I got was a DVD, 'Slapstick of another kind' a movie starring Jerry Lewis.
After Christmas I spent a few days in Colac with my relatives. The weather ranged from blustery cold rainy days to hot dry sunny days. It was nice down by the lake.
Arriving home on New Years Eve, at about 10pm (because some stupid idiot couldn't read a train time table right - okay it was me - so we missed the lunch time train and had to wait about 5 hours for the next one) I was too tired to do any New Years celebrating. Therefore, I put in some earplugs and fell fast asleep. Terribly boring thing to do, but it was a really good sleep.

While we were in Colac, my mum felt like she was getting a cold. Then yesterday it all got worse. She could hardly breath. Because it was a public holiday, there were no doctors open so my dad took her straight to the hospital. There after a really long wait they decided to admit her overnight. They took a blood test. All we know at the moment is that it's some sort of chest infection. (We knew that before she went to the hospital).
We'll see what happens. I don't think it's too serious. It's probably the breathing thing that has them worried.

If you're looking for something to read try 'Pattern Recognition' by William Gibson. I just finished it. It really drew me in. It's written in a style that's really easy to read, it's almost like thought. Won't go into too much detail about the story, I think it's best to read a story without any preconceptions. I don't even like reading blurbs unless I have too. I find that often blurbs give away too much, and sometimes they're just plain wrong. (I do like to read them after I've read the book.) Let's just say I liked 'Pattern Recognition' so much that I keep dipping back into it, even though I've finished it. I'm already thinking about reading it again.

Right, well I'm off to buy some milk.
