The car boot sale is my church - every Sunday I make the pilgrimage to Portman Road car park to worship the Egyptian god Tat. Sure, there's a lot of nasty shit there but, weather permitting, there's a good turn out and you can dig up some real treasures. Cheap media particularly.
Haven't seen them, but I got Three Colours purely on reputation, and the artistry of it. I'm on a cinematography tip at the mo. Dog Soldiers is just a lot of fun, not outlandishly gory (beside the part where Sean Pertwee is struggling to get his intestines back in) but very funny. I was thinking of sticking it in your Christmas package actually.

Cheap media and random hidden treasures are what I live for.
Meanwhile, my big excursion for the weekend was to Target (I secretly hate the place, but there's some things I just can't be bothered to get at the pricier places) for shower curtain liners (you need more than one when you have an oval bathtub), a new cheese grater, and some pillows. How exciting. Not.
I suppose if Dog Soldiers found its way into my possession, I'd at least give it an honest go. Funny is always good.

Amen to that!
I'd better get my arse in gear and put together some assortment of treats for you so I can get them out in time. I'm a hopeless procrastinator. It's not that I'm fundamentally lazy, I'm just easily sidetracked.

Now that the weather's cooled off and gotten comfortable, a trip to Uncle Fun may be in order as well. Something cool almost always turns up there.

I'll look forward to it whenever. With the UK postal service striking a lot of late, nothing much is particularly guaranteed anyhow.

Oh, my! They'll be out on DVD here next month, so I'll get them from Netflix and see if they're as funny for 30 minutes as they are for three.
How's tricks? Busy as hell this week, making sure all of our property taxes are paid up to date and providing assessed values to our acquisitions peeps. The good news is it makes the days pass quite quickly!
Plans for the weekend yet? Chicago Diner for veggie brunch and a trip to Whole Foods is about all I think I can muster. We've got a few cheesy movies coming, including another zombie livestock attack called "Black Sheep", as well as the theatrical release of "Planet Terror". I'm waiting to buy until the double-feature DVD is released next year, but I have to say the extended version of "Death Proof" was even cooler than the theatrical version.

Waiting for payday, but otherwise not a lot planned. Will probably get stuck into the Three Colours. I've been scouring teh interwebs for wallpapers, utilities and hacks (or fixes) for Vista lately, and looking around for a cheap broadband deal. I've found a phone+net one that, for 12 months at least, will be cheaper than the basic BT phone service I have now. Bless you Mr Branson. Sooner or later I'll stop staring at the computer and do something meaningful with it (once I've got Photoshop, and Fruity Loops...)
Last night's Conchords was beautiful. They've all been great, you're going to have a ball. Caught a trailer for Black Sheep, that looks a laugh.

It was almost a given, since "Dead Meat" was so darn entertaining. I don't really understand my fixations on zombies and psychotic nuns, but there you have it.
I'll probably be able to come up with more suggestions for your DVD collection once I've had a chance to scan my own. I skipped "Office Space" for O, because you'd mentioned that for some reason you didn't care for it. I could've done without that talentless Aniston woman, but otherwise, it was a hoot. I work with people like that. And since I'm the office manager as well as doing all this accounting stuff, I'm quite keen on taking various printers/copiers out to pasture and bludgeoning them to death.
Cheap broadband is hard to find. Thank you, Mr. Reagan, for deregulating the telephone and cable TV industries so that we can now enjoy shitty service at astronomical prices! I pay $60 a month for broadband and we lose service for at least a few hours at a time every other time we have a torrential thunderstorm.

I did enjoy Office Space, a lot - just didn't think of it as a "keeper". Unlike my stapler.

I got lucky and found a used copy (DVD) at Laurie's Planet of Sound for $7. A price like that makes damn near anything a keeper.
Are you looking for any specific genres? Or just alphabetical completion? I have many, many "B", "C" and "D" titles. But I'm lacking in some of the same ones you are. Problem is, I can visualize the shelves where I keep the DVDs we've bought, but not all the stuff that's been recorded. But you know how much I love to help with things like this.
No one ever laughs when I do stupid movie quotes at work any more. Someone did steal a stapler from the guy who sits outside my office. And when I did the "my stapler" bit, he didn't even get it. Sigh.

I was just aiming for completeness really - most of my collection, such as it is, fall into more than one out of action/comedy/sci-fi/horror/drama/tokenforeign. No animation yet. Akira. The Tune.
I can relate to unenthusiastic workmates.

Animation? Try "The Triplets of Belleville" and "Allegro Non Troppo". I loved those!! Have you ever heard of/ seen any of the "Spike and Mike" stuff? I have a little two-disc box set and could arrange for you to see a few of those shorts if you liked.
I like to be completist. I have this annoying drive to complete "sets". There was a really cool CD I had, but wound up selling, because it was a Vol. 1 and they never continued the series. I think you'll understand what the problem was.
Your genre selection is not dissimilar to mine; will double check the list at home and shoot you a few more titles for the gaps, if at all possible. Anything you're particularly averse to?

Can't think of anything off-hand... could do without any Ukrainian Experimental Scat-Porn, but otherwise I'm cool Not familiar with Spike & Mike though, or the others - will investigate further.

You do have it bad. I think I can relate but can't think of anything specific straightaway. Watch this space

Watching with bated breath. No one else quite understands the "sickness" the way you do.
I can possibly arrange for you to have the opportunity to see some Spike & Mike and also "Triplets"; sadly, I don't have "Allegro" (yet). And you're in luck- I own no Ukrainian Experimental Scat-Porn. At least none that I know of.
Speaking of sci-fi, have you seen "La Jetee" (which Criterion released here with another of his films called "Sans Soleil")? It was the "inspiration" for "12 Monkeys". This weekend I think we're going to watch "Zero De Conduite" and "If...", back to back. It's fun to watch the influencing material first and put it all into context.
Which also reminds me that I should send you "The Virgin Spring"...

I could easily add that to the holiday parcel as well, if you like?

You bet'cha! I'll start getting things together over this weekend.
I've certainly had a lot of time for about-mucking this morning. Once everyone gets back from lunch I should probably have a bit more actual w*rk to do.
