Yeah, Graham Norton is all right- his character in Father Ted was obnoxious enough to get a giggle out of me, and I caught a few episodes of a show he hosted that was occasionally amusing. I may have to check that other show out.
"Superbad", on the other hand, I'll give a miss. Aside from not being the sort of movie I like, I've heard just awful things about it from the few people I know who've bothered with it. I'm fairly certain there's something coming out soon that I'm interested in seeing (especially as we have a half dozen or so free passes for the AMC theater on Michigan Ave).

Another one you should definitely try is I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. Some of the innuendo on that beggars belief.

I'll add that one to the ever-growing list as well!

Have you seen "Little Miss Sunshine" yet? Now that I have, I'm sorry I waited so long. I laughed so hard I cried *and* my stomach hurt.

Beautiful, wasn't it? Glad you enjoyed it.
I'm with the consensus that Harry Enfield was miscast as Dirk Gently. Nicely put together nevertheless, and the theme tune is a definite nod to the former glory of our dear Doug, Peace Be Upon Him.

Brings to mind "Red Rocket", which reminds me I still need to compile some choice South Park episodes for you.
Miserable, hot, muggy weather today through Sunday, but starting Tuesday we'll start having some autumn. I may want to go fart around at a local park's pumpkin patch thing next weekend. But this weekend, I'll be keeping a very low profile, staying out of the heat. K won't be around all day Saturday, so I've got loads of productivity planned. Care to place your wager as to whether or not I'll get around to any of it?

If you thought that one was bad, check out this actual real thing (in Germany)

I do wonder if that legitimate German soft drink company will be modded.
I've had a mental week since Jan's been on holiday but I'm looking forward to chilling out this weekend too. Got I Huckabees I'm planning to watch, and have endless fun deciding whether it should go before or after I Know What You Did Last Summer (which I'll never own). Plus a stck of oldschool funk and hip-hop breaks to mess around with (Superbad's fault). And some beautiful wallpapers from Deviantart.

Oh and I've got a journal entry of sorts, if you're interested. Hope you take some time out for yourself to cool off.

Saw the journal entry (I've added you to my friends hoping you wouldn't mind). I'm interested, of course!
A little over four hours to go till I can get out of here. Argh!
Are you going to get internet at home again now that you've got the new computer? It *is* possible to enjoy home internet and even participating in discussion with various people without getting *too* involved or immersed in their lives. And it makes it a lot more convenient to get porn.

I've gotta admit, I do miss teh intawebs. There's just so much to exploit - I certainly don't mind a bit of porn, were it not for the cost, the danger of finding the Wrong Site or the atrocious propensity for spy/ad/malware (thank heavens for Google Images), but the boundaries I worry about are my own, too.
Mostly I miss making daft pictures and posting them. I used to have a few decent virals of my own.
Got Run Lola Run just now, said to be good... can you confirm?

I enjoyed that one quite a bit. The director used a lot of techniques to move the story, and I found that entertaining. I didn't care for the sound score, but you'll know why when you see it. If you end up liking it, the same girl was in one called "The Princess and the Warrior" that's quite good, too.
Was mostly joking about internet porn, but there is definitely endless opportunity for silliness and artistic flair.
I get you about the boundaries, though. I'd rather not discuss in detail here, but maybe sometime when we're both in the mood to purge, it'd do for an email.
Of course the biggest problem with having teh interwebs at home is that it will consume too much of your time in RL and your house will succumb to filth and squalor. I'm online a lot more from work than home these days myself, other than weekend mornings.

Plus, it's like... 5.20am there?
Welcome that email when you're ready. Take it easy though.

Yeah, it's 5:20 AM. To be fair, I did get tired and went to bed at around 10:30 last night. And the cat woke me up at 4:30 to come play (then promptly got back into bed and stole my spot).
Email forthcoming. It'll eliminate the need for me to be vague in my special hatetalkingaboutmyselfinpublic way.

Hopefully I'll be able to listen to Dirk Gently today. K has to leave around 11 this morning and probably won't be home before that time tomorrow, so it'll give me a good excuse not to do too many chores later.

Enjoyed Run Lola Run a great deal. If not just for all the chilli-red-haired-hottie-panting action, I do love stories that muck about with time and cause-effect. Gotta love that German techno though, huh? Especially when it's a direct pull from Trainspotting.
Had a lovely evening Sunday, Si & Mary had a dinner party from Mary's mum. A couple of their friends came along - it was still warm enough to eat in the garden with a little kiln and a stack of candles. Vege lasagne with lots of nibbles, roasted broad beans which were great, apple pie and ice cream. They'd been to London that week to see Neil Gaiman, and brought me back a signed copy of one of his Sandman graphic novels. I was so chuffed! Drank too much wine though, and spent yesterday paying for it.
How went the gig, and how are you doing? Did you manage to listen to it?

I enjoyed the cause/effect theme as well. The music, though- ugh. At least it was subtitled, so we could turn the volume way down and avoid the annoyance. I wound up watching "Trainspotting" (I thought that one was OK) with the captioning on for the same reason.
Dinner party sounds nice. It still hasn't cooled off enough to even consider al fresco dining here... Roasted broad beans sound great to me, too, though I'm not sure I've ever had them (I think they're called something else here and I can't remember what).
I guess the gig went fine. K got home yesterday at around 5 PM and indicated I'd have suffered- the friends they stayed with had no a/c and various animals running around, and even he felt it. But he had a good time. I just sort of mucked around tidying up and doing a bit of reading. I did listen to the first episode of Dirk Gently (are they all available now or did I read incorrectly?), but I kind of zoned out a bit. I guess I do better with actual printed books, or with video... audio books and radio programs sometimes don't hold me. I hope that's just because it's not something I do often, as opposed to a seriously lacking attention span.
