SEF Posted May 21, 2004
Boxing Baboon, it would help if you could spell properly - especially other people's (nick)names when they are right there in front of you. Failing to do so just looks rude.
As it happens I hardly ever yikes posts and don't recall ever having yikesed one of yours specifically unless you were one of the semi-anonymous spammers/flooders of Saturnine's threads some months ago in which case I was one of several people trying to refer the posts to the external moderators as directed while Jim Lynn (I think it was but it was a long time ago) did something to sort things out behind the scenes.
I am slightly curious as to what the lie(s) you mention is supposed to be though. The one thing which did occur to me was that just because you posted on the thread and the person on the messaging system claimed to have done so doesn't mean that you were the same person. I know it wasn't me but it needn't have been you either as the other people were probably assuming. The person messaging Saturnine could just have easily have been monitoring the thread, waited for you to post (or me!) and then claimed to have posted without actually having done so, ie to implicate you.

*rolls eyes*
Sorry everyone - I've fuelled the Fire of the Baboon and given him a chance to re-enter the conversation again. Perhaps if we ignore it, it'll go away again.

Just a point of fact.
If one were to analyse the Last Modified date on the Conversation log Saturnine has (of which an exact copy resides on my server), it would match up exactly to the last event in the Conversation (if I'm not mistaken, it should be date-stamped), thus proving the only intervention to the file was done by the IM software itself. No user-editing in there at all.
Which brings me to a point: Just in case BB tries to contact you again, Saturnine, make a copy of the original .LOG file, so Modification dates aren't renewed. Otherwise, plain text isn't all that solid.
And BB, this will not do! Here you are, it seems, on Pre-mod, and you're openly admitting that you intend to persist hassling specific Researchers! DO YOU NOT GET IT?

Loup, I can understand why you might be getting a different error (although it may actually be the same one - I don't use nor like Internet Explorer, and have forgotten how its fiddly bits work), called an HTTP 500 - Cannot Find Server error, due to a network issue on the Server.
But I've sorted that now. Try it again.
Or if not, try [Unsuitable link removed by Moderator]which is basically the same page anyway.
If it still doesn't work, get a new browser. IE isn't exactly pick of the crop.

For the record Madam Baboon it was me who yiksed your earlier post. I actually posted straight away to notify you that it was me so please do not accuse others.
It is an easy thing to do reading the backlog before you post .
Now simply you *have* been harrasing Sat and aka, no two ways about it. I advise you to stop, however if you don't please do not expect me not to yikes your posts.
For the record every one of your posts that I "Yikes" from here on in I am going to add that I think it is appropriote for additional action to be taken as you do not seem to be getting the message.

hi Luciena,
I'm sorry if you thought I was shouting at you. I wasn't really. Honestly I wasn't. But I am concerned.
Your account of this person sends my 'danger radar' almost totally off the screen. As in - high risk. I think you should be very careful. And I am not trying to scare you - not at all. But perhaps someone like yourself cannot imagine 'what evil lurks'. I don't have to imagine. Unfortunately I have experienced it. So I think I can recognise the behaviour patterns. Nothing this person is doing to you is in any way 'okay'.
If you want me to butt out, just say so. I won't take offense, though I will continue to worry about you. Meanwhile, you are welcome to come and have a chat with me about this on my page if you like.
Take care, honey,
az

aka, you are just not keeping up at all!
BB is not on pre-mod (though apparently some people have been manually yikesing his posts). You must have been having difficulty remembering which post was which. But to guess wrong, you must also be totally mistaken about the motivations and actions of who does what about whom/what around here. I would have thought you might have known better even from your own experience though.

"have u read it all then ?? she was more abusive to me than i was with her."
She swore at you. O you poor creature. What the hell do you expect if you provoke it like you do? I'm so SICK of people spouting the 'They were abusive to me' thing. People argue. Tempers get short. And in any case you were fully deserving the 'abuse' you received. You message someone without invitation or prior approval; someone who you evidently don't even know or get on well with, and expect a nice friendly chat?
Bulls**t.
"from the very start of being on hootoo ive treid to have alugh but the folk who use this are a bunch of misery guts who aint able of laughter so instead just use it agaisnt others"
LEAVE THEN. I've sat through you putting the Community down as people who don't have senses of humour just because the majority don't /get/ your type of 'humour'. Damaging the server and its uptime. Sure. What a right laugh.
"u see i dont care about not been on h2g2 as i can access it through p.c .i only started this trouble cause my friends whom i care about are what u call lesser ppl cause they cant afford a computer .for 2 ppl to be so vindictive and malice to report ppl who havent even done a thing wrong on this site is nasty was only trying to work out if she had yet understood what she had done to ppl my friends???"
Blah blah ing blah.
Listen BB. The access to h2g2 from the digibox was a risk-take, it wasn't totally secure, it wasn't totally stable, it wasn't totally usable. It wasn't error free. The BBC sites that the Beeb provide to digiboxes are toned down *so* much so that the rubbish little PACE boxes can manage to parse the content without committing e-Suicide.
The cutting off of such access was an effect of a bug-report being resolved. That's not vindictivity, scheming or evil plotting. In fact, the digiboxers were being selfish by continuing to use the digibox link after explained to them that it would be a likely explanation for the adverse effects felt over the Telewest/Blueyonder Internet Service network. They were cutting out other people's DiTV and Internet services, or at least adding to the problem of such.
Now I have a nice smooth service again. And my Interactive menu on the Digital TV works, as opposed to being continually down for months and months on end. It may just be coincidence, but I feel the digiboxers accessing non-Telewest safe pages added to such a problem, which is now resolved because of that.
If they just so happened to lose access to a connection that just so happened to be non-official, that's their own problem and fault. The Internet does not come for free. Service Providers need to be paid.
Also, they're not 'lesser people' because they can't afford a computer. If you think they're classed as 'lesser people' under certain people's standards, that's regardless of their wealth (I speak for myself, at least. I'm sure anybody else you're willing to apply that to will also agree, unless they are overly rich and ignorant. Neither of which, I am. By the way.)
I'm sorry to have brought this up here, this is the last I'll speak of it - I've nothing more to add so all questions can be pointed back to this post.
And don't give us that, BB. You know you haven't left the Thread.
Just let me get this through to you.
1. You will not avenge your lost friends by doing what you are doing here.
2. You will not get either of us to apologise or say 'Yes, we were wrong', or 'Yes we are arrogant s', or 'Yes BB, you were right', or 'Don't worry BB, everyone *is* equal'. And, making way for pedantry, this bullet point doesn't count.
3. You seem to have a negative attitude to the whole site.
Quoth the transcript:
"there all stuck up b*****ds"
BB, Talking about the Aces
And for more quotes, just look at your posting history. You've slated the entire Community for being 'high and mighty' (an inferiority complex, me thinks you have), incapable of humour et al.
You've also stated you don't really need/want to be here.
So leave. Before you're thrown out. At least retain what little dignity you have left. This site has a habit of remembering, in an undignified way, those who have been banned from the site - because it happens so rarely. We spit on them in disgust (metaphorically of course. Spitting is against the <./>HouseRules</.> )

No more to say. I haven't changed the log, I won't change the log, I don't need to change the log.
I do wonder though, who the people are that Baboon is acting in behalf for. Do they know? Do they condemn his actions? Do they applaud him.
Ah well. We'll never know.

I think he's generally a self-appointed Voice of the People.
When the People themselves are oblivious to his actions.
