it's just us english speakers have to be as awkward as possible...and all those people in all the other countries learn english! if we can't get our own rules how can they??
Hey!
Kaz Posted Apr 26, 2003
Yeah. Good point.
I never thought of that.
I'm doing English at college and they try to get us to analyse childrens talk. Sometimes you get what's wrong with what they've said and you know what the right version is, but you don't understand what they've done wrong, if you get what I mean.
I find that really annoying.
Hey!
NPY Posted Apr 28, 2003
yeah...you mean like the way they say words wrong and get grammar muddled up??
well i'm 20 and iu still can't talk right
Hey!
Kaz Posted May 10, 2003
Yep, that's what I meant.
It makes my brain hurt trying to work it all out!
Got my exams in about a months time. arrrggghh! Nooo!
Hey!
NPY Posted May 15, 2003

Hey!
Kaz Posted May 28, 2003
Thanks for that.
Did you see Simon Jones on Cambridge spies the other week?
Hasn't he changed?
Could still tell it was him from the voice though. Very distinctive.
He played a Lord or something.
Nice to see him back, its been a long time since he was on telly!
Hey!
NPY Posted Jun 1, 2003
why do i miss all the good stuff??
it'd be funny to see them all now...wonder what the guy that playd Zaphod looks like now...can't remember his name...and he'll only have the one head and two arms. hehe
Hey!
Kaz Posted Jun 5, 2003
Yeah. Kinda strange imagining him now!
um...was it Mark Wing-Davey?
I think that was him.
Don't worry, you didn't really miss much, Simon Jones was only in it for about five minutes and he didn't come back in the later episodes.
Shame, I wish he had really.
He looks pretty much the same I suppose, only it was the fact that he's going bald which surprised me and made it a bit difficult to recognise him first.

Kaz Posted Jun 21, 2003
No I can't either!
there was a thing on telly ages ago that talked about hitchhikers briefly and he was on there, just looking a bit greyer really if I remember rightly. Can't remember what he said about the whole thing, but never mind.
Hey!
NPY Posted Jun 22, 2003
yeah it was the top 10 sci fi or something???
saw it. he was just the same
Hey!
Kaz Posted Jul 6, 2003
Yeah, same haircut and everything!!!!!!!
Wonder what happened to that red/yellow pinstripe jacket he wore?
Probably still in BBC costume somewhere collecting dust.
Hey!
NPY Posted Jul 25, 2003
or maybe some fan has it somewhere and is wiating to make a fortune on it at some auction
ansd they're probably wearing it to fancy dress parties and conventions and no-one believes him that it's the original actal jacket from the tv.

Kaz Posted Aug 1, 2003
Maybe they've already sold it, or David Dixon actually has it, maybe he's kept it as a keepsake/reminder of playing Ford or something.
I know some actors keep stuff like that.
Robert De Niro got a hack license specifically to train as a cabbie for Taxi Driver. The last interview I read he was trying to find it.
...Probably shoved in a drawer somewhere.
You know how some actors have their pictures painted as a character for like a role or something, like there was a picture of Mr. Darcy on the wall of his house in the tv series and it looked like Colin Firth?
Well, I've always wondered what happens to the pictures after they've been used. Do they get chucked, do the actors keep them as mementoes or what? And who paints them in the first place?
Hey!
NPY Posted Aug 2, 2003
maybe Colin Firth has his poic on his wall?? More likely the BBc props people have done something with it. Or the guy that did it has it in his gallery worth thousands coz it's of the lovely Colin.
Hey!
Kaz Posted Oct 21, 2003
more likely the second option I should think. I reckon Colins too modest to keep something like that. (well, all the interviews I've read of him he seems a nice down to earth bloke).
Can't imagibe it'd be worth a lot, but the bloke who does the paintings probably gets paid a bit-cos they are famous guys afterall.
Sorry I've been away so long, the computers been having tantrums.
Hey!
Kaz Posted Nov 22, 2003
I dunno! sent it to be fixed and the thing's still a right shambles. I'm tempted just to reinstall the whole lot. It hasn't been in decent working order since we installed a game on it. Anyway, what were we talking about?
Hey!
NPY Posted Nov 24, 2003

Hey!
Kaz Posted Jan 13, 2004
