So what was so uninteresting.
Relaxed, refreshed and fed up with having to go back to the office may'be, but did you have a good time.

Good point - not being in w*rk is never a waste of my time!
I just loafed about at home. Did as little as possible.
Great stuff.

Just out of anthropological interest, does there still exist that minority that go around saying things like "tidy" and "batty" in that part of Wales, or was that just a myth put about by a black british comedian who visited there once?
We're off to Manchester this weekend to take in the Pink Floyd Concert (We're that old so we're allowed OK). It's been a long time since we last saw and heard them live.
What are you reading on the the treadmill at the moment? We're trying to learn Greek at the moment the tape and book method.

There may well be people here who say that sort of thing - but I expect they keep themselves well hidden...
'Tidy' is familiar though. It was one of a lot of similar phrases that someone put into a book called 'Talk Tidy', which was a phrasebook for 'Wenglish' (a sort of 'dialect'-like thingy that used to be spoken in the South Wales Valleys. Don't know if it still is - on the other hand I could be completely wrong and the author of the book just made it all up). I must admit that I myself say 'tidy' in the 'Wenglish' context on occasion. (Embarrassing confession of the day, folks)
I'm not reading on the treadmill at the moment - I've got the incline set to such an angle that the book keeps falling off.
I get round this by listening to the soundtrack of Moulin Rouge instead. That passes a very pleasant half hour/forty minutes...

So what do you understand "tidy" to mean. We have always thought it meant good, positive etc.
You'll be going out hill running next. Leave the machine behind, break free of the blank vista and seek new horizons
But it's warm and dry indoors.
We got a copy of Amelie on DVD the other day, an absolute gem. If you've not seen it we recommend that you give it a try. Very visual and intimate, it's going to be a classic.

Yep - 'tidy' means 'good', 'fine', 'excellent' etc. It's a very nice little word in that respect!
I haven't given 'Amelie' a go - though I hear it is meant to be very good. I'll have to go and join up at my local blockbuster (recently opened just up the road!), I think.
Don't know about hill running - hill dawdling might be more accurate!

Hi
We just got back from Manchester, Roger Waters, Chinese Feast and Burne-Jones. Excellent weekend.

Hmm - an interesting scenario!
Mind you, a friend of mine was telling me what her dog eats - I don't fancy that sort of thing at all!
Apart from the usual - he actually tries to eat York stone!
Bleagh.
I'm far too much of a fussy puppy for that sort of thing...

Yay!
Things have been a bit quiet recently 'cause our computers have been playing up and we keep losing our internet connection.
Still - whilst it's working...

Drat and double drat, looks like we missed Pat again in our absense.
Just got back from a week in Cornwall yesterday, loads of driving(just over 1K) and loved those narrow lanes. There was plenty of anxiety in the passenger seat, but no collisions with anything harder then a few blades fo grass.
So the Eden Project, we were well impressed, the whole nine yards and more besides. Very "TIDY". Heligan's lost bits were the best, but Lanhydrock is an absolute sparkler, and we managed all between the showers. Definately "Go see again" places, and all in Wibble week, too marvelous.
Even better if someone else did the driving.

I've got Monday Morning-itis as I'm back in w*rk - but other than that I'm perky and fluffy.
I loved Cornwall when I was there a few years ago. Lanhydrock was fabby, and the Fishing villages are so nice to visit - if you don't mind tramping up steep hills, particularly in Fowey.
Only a couple of months to my Hols!!! (ticks days off, one by one...)

We visited Fowey, but drove down to the keyside. Had doubts about extractinting ourselves out again but managed it fairly easily.

Boscastle Harbour and Cliff walk is breath taking, we also went to Rock and that was realy beautiful.
Saw John Betchamens grave at the lost church.

Nice.
It's been so long since I was there - I've forgotten a lot of what we did. Though I do recall having a very nice ice cream at Lanhydrock, and some very delicious home made Lemonade at the National Trust restaurant at St. Michael's Mount. While we were on the Mount a nasty thunderstorm came ashore just up the coast from us at Mousehole, and it looked pretty dramatic out to sea from the Castle, with the sky a really dark grey and ominous rumblings. But by the time we'd had some lunch and gone back across to Marazion, it was bright and sunny again!
I found a lovely turned wooden vase from a craft-outlet at Buckland Abbey. I love turned wood.
We stayed in a self catering cottage (something we normally do on these jaunts) which was run by 'Bobby G' from Bucks Fizz - of all people!
He was a really nice bloke, and the Cottage was really comfy.

Morning all!
And what a lovely morning it is! For the time being anyway...
Not that I can see much from my desk at w*rk
Never mind. I'll be off to get my morning toast and marmalade soon (ooh what an exciting life I lead!) and a nice hot cup of

Toast and Marmalade! you have a very thoughtful employer. All we ever got was a keyring with the company logo and matching pen that fell to bits.
