Only on the Decimalian calendar!
Come to think of it, why the heck haven't we tried to decimalise a 365.25 day year, 7 day week, 24 hour day, 60 minute hour, 60 second minute? After all, we have milliseconds, nanoseconds etc.!
Rock the boat? Don't rock the boat, baby....

Now there's a song I've not heard for a bit....
Heard a couple of good oldies while out shopping the other day:
Disco Inferno and Le Freak - both have top notch Bass lines.

I'm currently tracing the music for 'Hocus Pocus' by Focus to put to the guys. That's a good tight number with a high falsetto vocal in the chorus - I think we'll get Isabeau to sing it !
(Did you get the Pic of the band?)
I found that my amp has been the culprit in the blank sound situation, not the guitar, but I've fixed it now... Only two weeks to go to our tour - I'm really looking forward to it! We're too old for the sex, drugs and rock 'n roll, so I guess it'll be dregs, socks, muck and droll? Hell, three of the band will be over fifty in the next six months...

I've got a copy of that on CD somewhere (I think....)
I thought about having a monster bash next year for my 40th, trying to get all the musicians that I've played with over the years to do a few songs a piece, then end up with the current band finishing the night in fine style
I can see a few problems, most of them live 350 miles North of where I am now. Rehersing could be quite awkward!! Never Mind, I've got almost a year to plan it.

Aah! A young'n like our Keith in the BJD Band! I'm definitely planning a thrash for my 50th - but I've got 2 years to plan it still!
I'd love to get a jam-session of everyone together as well!
Maybe some dancing girls too!

I used to do a bit of amateur dramatics - backstage work, sound and lighting surprisingly enough. The crew always had to check out the dancing girls and award marks out of ten. It became a ritual.

dancing girls! When I was a teenager I was asked by a girl friend's mother to act as a dresser for a modeling show she had arranged, as they had two male models as well as the ten girls. Oh the difficulty of keeping your teenaged eyes and mind on the work when there are ten nubile firm-breasted females dashing around in only g-strings and tights! (I think that's when I became a dirty ol' man!)
I have a conflict of values at present - a new 5-string Hohner bass with Steinbecker string system and active pickups (new @ 200 Pounds) - or orthodontic work on my son's teeth! Actually the teeth will cost twice as much as the guitar, and the medical scheme pays less than half if I blow the whole family's dental allowance for the year. The joys of being a parent!

Easy decision, buy the Bass, play loads of gigs, spend the profits on the dental work.... SORTED

Better idea - Gran pays for the dental work (only child,etc...) and I buy the guitar.
I played on a Peavey TNT bass amp at one gig during the tour where the sound system was supplied - awesome deep booming stuff - almost creamed the jeans at the sound!!!
Still working out whether we made a profit or loss...

I played a Peavey T-Max when I was looking to buy an amp. I thought it could certainly shift some air, but was a little full on, plus it was clean as a whistle. I ended up getting an Ashdown rig, 1x15" 400 watt combo with HF horn and a 2x10 with horn. When you start turning up the "Grind" control, it puts more signal through the valve side of the preamp, gives it that nice overdriven sound. It's got a really trendy octaver built in as well, which is great when used with a little care.
The most amazing thing is the way it all packs into my car (a Toyota Yaris)

Methinks I had better consult widely with persons such as yerself before buying a new bass amp! Out here in the Styx at the bottom of the world, we are a lottle (opp. of little) out of the main flow of stuff...!

Got yer pics - thanks
It's no good me telling you what to buy, I don't know what they have available down your way.
They say a Bass player needs twice as much amp as the Guitarist, well, our man has a 100 watt Marshall half stack and could blow me away easily. My rig must push out 500 watts without breaking into a sweat, once the second cab is connected.
It's all down to personal taste, if you like dry crisp Hi Fi quality, go for SWR, if you like balls to the wall rock Bass with loads of valve distortion, go Ampeg.
