Reiki needed please

Just had a fall and have hurt my left arm (inner elbow to across the biceps - also both my left forearm, both knees, shins and my ankles. They hurt in that order.

I saw what I thought was a burglary and had just opened my new French windows to show the Police the house where I saw the man climbing in through an upstairs window snd the temporary step collapsed and I fell, scraping me arm on a metal girder which had supported a pole (one end of a washing line). I was lucky - the Police thought I had hit my head on it.

Turned out that the man lived there and had removed a satellite dish. He had not used a ladder as it was easier to just climb in and out of the window using the pitched roof of the kitchen. I had thought an Indian family lived there; the man was Polish, so it might be a rented house. Certainly the one directly opposite me is.

I'm giving the biceps reiki, but I can't do the other bits. The worst of the others is the forearm, which is scraped - and it stings.

Typing with the left hand is interesting.

Little fish dances to his mammy

LIttle smiley - fish has got really keen on the song 'Dance to your Daddy', particularly the version by Bob Fox. I was playing it on the computer and he came in the room and go me out of my seat and started walzing with me. He made a really good fist of it too - arm round my waist and taking the lead. The look on his face was really joyful. I've just downloaded the Theme from Titanic for him from iTunes and he's just buzzing with the music. smiley - magic And he paid for half of it with his pocket money too. Bless!

Folded wheels

I've just bought myself a new bike - a folder for going to and from work. It's a red Bronx Velo-City which has 20 inch wheels, which I ordered and paid for yesterday. I'll pick it up today - it'll fit nicely in the car. It's part of my drive to tet fit and to lose some weight. I'll not ride every day, maybe once or twice a week.

The decision to get a folder was mainly about not having any where to park it and worries about it being stolen. If it sits in the office with me, it's going nowhere that I don't know about.

Funnily enough, I paid for it with money for mileage, that I hadn't claimed in a while, so I put in a bid for several months at once. It will pay for the bike with about a tenner over. Sweet! smiley - magic

Wish me luck with the journeys. The last time I did the journey to and from work, I found it easy on the way there (it's mostly hownhill), but at the end of the day, it was a different story - uphill, and towards the end very steeply uphill. At the end of a week's riding, I managed to make the last bit without having to get off and push only once and it nearly killed me.smiley - puff

A budding Bobby Fischer?

Whilst I was at work today, I got a call around lunchtime from little smiley - fish's school and was told he had a message for me. They put him on and he told me that he'd forgotten to tell me he had a chess tournament after school and would need picking up at 6pm. I said I would try to get there a bit early so I could see some of the match.

I arrived at around 5.15pm to find that he had already played and had won his match. Last time, he lost. They were playing at home this time, and he said that he thought home advantage worked in his favour.

Whilst it would be nice if he excelled at chess, I don't think I would want him turning out like Bobby Fischer, who seems to have been a real fruit-cake. http://www.bobby-fischer.net/ A real genius, but definitely off-the-wall. I well remember the excitement of the World Chess Championships against Boris Spassky. Remember the issue over the yoghurt?smiley - weird

Blowing my own trumpet

I now own the trumpet I've been practising on! smiley - magic I was talking with Roy and said something about practising on *my* trumpet, and then said, 'Of course, I know it's not *my* trumpet...' and he said that as I'd shown such commitment to learning, he was going to give it to me.smiley - wow He does own a newer and very much better one, but I'm really happy about having my own trumpet.

The place where I'm learning has a concert later on in March and my tutor has asked if I would like to perform a piece. Of course, I've said yes. It will give me something to aim for. smiley - applause (or smiley - blush - I don't know which yet! smiley - laugh
