Zarquon's Singing Fish! Started conversation Mar 10, 2007
Just had a fall and have hurt my left arm (inner elbow to across the biceps - also both my left forearm, both knees, shins and my ankles. They hurt in that order.
I saw what I thought was a burglary and had just opened my new French windows to show the Police the house where I saw the man climbing in through an upstairs window snd the temporary step collapsed and I fell, scraping me arm on a metal girder which had supported a pole (one end of a washing line). I was lucky - the Police thought I had hit my head on it.
Turned out that the man lived there and had removed a satellite dish. He had not used a ladder as it was easier to just climb in and out of the window using the pitched roof of the kitchen. I had thought an Indian family lived there; the man was Polish, so it might be a rented house. Certainly the one directly opposite me is.
I'm giving the biceps reiki, but I can't do the other bits. The worst of the others is the forearm, which is scraped - and it stings.
Typing with the left hand is interesting.

So to hear about your bumps and bruises. I am gald it wasn't worse, and that they are better soon.
So you do Reiki? I had a vague recollection that you did. A riend of mine does too, and it is funny I was only telling someone about Reiki the other day.
I really should find out more about it. How on earth do you do it on yourself then?!
Take care, hope you are better soon,

Thanks for the healing wishes, Ladye_S. I couldn't open that link.
Thanks Websailor - I'm still a bit shaken. Thanks to the reiki, the arm is healing and didn't get massively bruised, but it's still pretty impressive. The knee still hurts a lot as I wasn't able to reiki both at the same time. Funnily enough, the forearm hasn't bruised - just three big red wheals - maybe the reiki from the upper arm travelled down to it. Just had a bath and I'm off to bed for an early night.

Ouch.
Healing thoughts are winging their way from Australia as you sleep, ZSF I'm sure you'll wake up achey, but I hope that taking it gently through the day will loosen up the bruises. Treat yourself carefully.
Just as well it's a weekend.

Yes, LS, I did feel better in the morning.
Thanks for the healing thoughts from Australia, Fb. The knees are a lot better now, although they're not good to kneel on yet, the forearm has gone down a lot and the upper arm is nicely purple with red abrasions down the middle, about six inches by three maximum. I really think that the reiki did speed the healing and take a lot of the ache out of it.
Funnily enough, at the time, probably more than the pain of bitting the metal girder, I was very conscious of being embarrassed in front of the police officers. I think embarrassment at a fall in front of others is very common.

Yes it can be.
The older one is, the more embarrassing it becomes.
My mother, I and several of the girls have fallen in front of people.
Never mind, we are all over it now.
I'm pleased to hear you are feeling better.

You're right about the embarassment. I took a tumble down the street a few months ago and my pride was far more injured than my body

LS and Fb
About the embarrassment - yes and the house wasn't even being burgled! (not that I wanted it to have been, of course)
Christiane
About the bruises - ones have started coming up that I wasn't previously aware of, such as on my right wrist. The only parts which are still quite sore are the left upper arm and left knee - not sore all the time, but they really are if they're touched. Little is fascinated by the arm.

I had another bruise come up on my left shin - quite a long one too. The arm is nicely yellow now.
Yesterday, I went to my trumpet class and after a few minutes, I felt so awful that I came home and went straight to bed.

And a new bruise this morning on my right foot. Isn't the process fascinating? I can say that more happily as they're just a bit sore when touched , not painful. As I've lost the music I was intending using for the concert (I couldn't find it on Monday evening), it may be a good sign that I'm not ready to play in public.

Perhaps it is the spring allowing more action then in the last months "

I'll try to take much better care of myself, TiT. You may be right - it might be spring bringing energy. The really odd thing was that I must have spun round 180∞ because although the metal support post was on the right as I went out, it injured my left arm.

I bought the commemorative edition of HHGTTG today.
I had tried to read it a couple of times but have, so far, only managed to dip into it.
I am looking at "So long, and thanks for all the fish". I like seals it reminds me of the books my children read at school. One of them was about a little boy whose friend was a seal. The names of the characters escape me now. Set in a small group of islands off Scotland.
Anyway, inside the front cover I read that DA died suddenly on 11 May 2001. I knew he was dead but I hadn't realized he had died suddenly. That happened to my brother. It has also happened to quite a few people I used to teach the piano and some others besides.
I'll just go and visit http://www.douglasadams.com and see if there is anything about it there.

Going back to the synchronicity issue someone mentioned earlier.
I often open books just at the page I want to without dipping anywhere is in the book . It happened the other day when I was in a shop. The dream book opened on the word 'Snake'. There seems to be quite a few snakes wriggling around at the present moment.

I think I first heard HHTTGG as a radio series. Or as tapes of the series. Not sure which. Then as a record (a vinyl disc with a rubber duck on the cover), then as a series of books, then a TV series and finally as a movie. I think I've seen/read most of its incarnations. I used to be able to quote bits of it verbatim. The writing is such fun - although maybe not for you? It's been a while since I read the books. How are you finding them?
DA died of a heart attack, I understand. He appears to have been a wonderful and very creative man.
I sometimes have that experience of synchronicity with books. Neat isn't it!
When I did dreaming to find my power animal on a camp a few years ago, I thought I wasn't getting anything, then I realised I was seeing a rather faint but very definite coiled snake - so my power animal is a coild snake. How are they manifesting for you?

Really ZSF I haven't got past looking at the front covers.
My experience of DA is mainly this website
I once caught a glimpse of the black and white series when it was advertised possible 20 years ago by now I never heard it on the radio or tapes.
I have dipped into the BIG book twice, I borrowed it from the library both times and came up with some co-incidences both times.
I like the idea of the 5 book set. I shall slowly read one book at a time. The fifth book is a "film tie-in" edition with an afterword by Robbie Stamp.
My bro died of a heart attack as well. There was an e-mail going around at the time that had a warning on it about not opening it if you had heart problems, I hadn't had any heart problems, but that particular e-mail did send me as well. It was sent to my daughter. As we were both reading e-mails sent by that particular person at the time, I didn't see it a problem reading her e-mail.
That is what a good parent should do.
Do you have any children,
Synchronicity with books: Another time that happened was when I was looking at a was David or Richard Attenborough book. I opened it at a frog, which was something my father d Frogs and Toads
The snakes. Yes. There's one in my personal space now.
The one in my personal space here is a story about the Tiger Snake that was on the Front Page last night, the other snake is a wooden one that only cost 99p. My children used to put a red rubber snake in my bed, when I had put one in theirs but they don't do that any more We've all grown up!
My power animal is not a coiled snake. I haven't actually discovered what my power animal is, my spirit guide is a person and I have an affinity with plants and animals. Birds seems to be playing a large part but not as much as dogs. There are somethimes people. Have a nice day.
