Hm, this thread is rather dusty...

It's been hiding under an elephant for four weeks. Gosh, was it really that long ago that I made that comment about eating Wowbagger's hat, or have I repeated myself somewhere? Probably the latter. And what are those things <> called?

I just tried looking them up in the dictionary but to no avail: I don't know what they begin with (but they don't half hurt when you sit on them).

I'm fine
You sounded a bit rushed in that last post...
And I'm rushed now, actually... Must catch the train home... See my journal (though I'm much better than I was when I wrote the last one--it's the one under that that's the good news!)

...............gosh.
That *did* look a wee bit rushed, that other post. Tch.

Thanks spimcoot
Of course, it's the after the *sigh* one that's the good news--I wrote the most recent one after I posted here last (But you likely figured that out)
How's everything?

Hn-hn
Pending good, I think. I have moved into a nice flat in London but I need a job... or an independent income. Actually, an independent income would be better.

That's good... And an independent income sounds good
*very carefully doesn't mention that which she's *really* curious about*

Hullo Amy, are you okay? I see you've been in friendship trouble again. You do seem to land yourself in it: fate's cruel reward for being a nice person. I was just going to have a nice rant in my journal about how much this place really gets on my nerves sometimes, but it seems so churlish now.

Thanks, spim... She seems to be doing better...
I see you're going to the meet in a couple weeks You might want to check out the thread on the meet page called 'An idea...' (I'd get the link but, 1) I'm at home using the nice stubborn machine and 2) that'd be a bit much, which you'll see if you read the thread...)
Why've you been annoyed? Go ahead and rant, if you still need to...

Yes, that idea sounds familiar. Makes me a little nervous I confess: I'm not keen on the phone as a method of communication but I'd certainly say 'hullo' into the instrument if it was passed to me.
I haven't been specifically annoyed per se; there have always been trends and tendencies in here that have given me the pip and I've been tempted to hold forth on them before but always held back out of politeness. It's not really important; people are just trying to connect with each other and make some sort of nonsense of life, but I wonder what Douglas would make of half the things that go on in his name.
Trouble is, everyone I know in here is probably guilty to some extent or another so I say nothing. I just think people are in danger of losing irony sometimes and suddenly there's a new religious cult devoted to the number 42. And that would be a terribly tragic missing of the point.
Hum. Some of the things I think make me feel like such a moist blanket.
I see another friend of yours, or perhaps the same one, is going to the meet too. That must be a good thing.

Yes, that is Suz that's going And no, that's not who I'm talking about in my journal--the woman that I'm talking about has never mentioned suicide on h2g2, so I didn't want to name names... Wonderful first impression that would make, hm? Suz has, so I don't have any problem freaking out specifically when she does so... She knows how public anything on h2g2 is...
