Hi spimcoot

Well, you caught me just as I was preparing to toddle off to bed... It's a holiday, so I can sleep in to a civilized hour...
Hi spimcoot
spimcoot Posted Feb 18, 2002
Ah, should have looked at this first, you've just answered a question I asked Outside. I love cross media conversations.

Or maybe not, if you've had a nice lie in. Strange to think that while I've been getting a good night's sleep at my desk, you've actually been asleep in a bed. No keyboard imprint on the forehead for you, but that I've been snoozing is written all over my face.

Mail now responded to. We'll have to find something else to talk about in here or this thread could become the equivalent of that wee flag on American mail boxes.

Actually, I can think of another thread that I have with another person that is exactly that... Since we share more than one thread...
But anyway, how are you this afternoon?
Morning Amy
spimcoot Posted Feb 21, 2002
Another belated reply, and now I've no idea how I was that afternoon, but this afternoon I had one of those dreadful fits of irritation where everything is annoying for no apparent reason. So I came in here and received a barrage of error messages. I can't really remember how I got out of it now, probably saw the funny side and went home early.
Thanks for the link in the other thread; I wonder how many other people thought, as I did, what! they can't do this to me! I'm (insert name here).
Have you ever seen Hitchcock's 'The Lady Vanishes'?

No... I haven't seen many Hitchcock films...
(Oh, someone actually here while I'm on lunch? I may faint...)

So how imminent is the redecoration?
Morning Amy
spimcoot Posted Mar 6, 2002
Stick around, should be hitting your screen in the next half an hour to an hour.

Okay, the deed is done. I think you'll like it but I hope you're not superstitious: go to footnote 13 to find out why...

'Philately will get you nowhere'
I'd popped over to see if you'd done it yet, and you must have posted while I was scrolling down to my boxes...
Nope, I'm not superstitous... So I'm the elephant, eh?
Morning Amy
spimcoot Posted Mar 6, 2002
Well not you *personally* , after all, you *are* the keeper of in jokes even after they've ceased to be amusing (how did that go again?) aren't you?
Glad you liked the philately joke - friend of mine, Neil (rechristened here as Nell), came out with out off the cuff when we were discussing hobbies or professions that might be confused with paedophilia. He claims he didn't say it because it's too good, which is a sort of backhanded bigheadedness in my view.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!
I've gone all GuideML-y and created a smiley utterly by chance . The horror!
Morning Amy
spimcoot Posted Mar 6, 2002
I still can't believe there's a smiley called flustered. Why isn't it called something sensible like 'slapped' or 'been overdoing it with the rouge'? Tch. I'm off to bed.

I thought Theory was the only one I knew that avoided them on purpose! Though he did do some smileys for my birthday...
The title that you are trying to remember is 'Keeper of inside jokes, even after they're not funny to anyone else anymore...'
Morning Amy
spimcoot Posted Mar 6, 2002
Ah yes, that was it.
I once visited Theory having gathered that he was a like mind from one of your conversation threads. Previously my space wasn't in ML so it seems that I didn't smiley by default. I hadn't realised it worked that way and that making it thus would alter all my postings too, but to step on one so soon is rotten luck. Bloody things.
Now I really am off to bed
Actually, I can see I'm going to have fun flirting with... hm, what are these things <> called? just to see if I step on another improbably named one. If the paragraph above turns out to be a 'hit' then I'll eat Wowbagger's hat (having already scoffed my own like a greedy boy).
