Bah

I've had another of those smiley - blue weeks.

I really need to find something to cheer me up, or for something good and life-affirming to happen for once (chance would be a fine thing, etc smiley - winkeye ).

Or I could just go out and get drunk or something smiley - cheers

Moving, keep on moving

I had the unusual experience yesterday of my mobile phone going off whilst at work. For once it was not "Papa Lazaru" (my name for the English wonk who used to call on a regular basis looking for "Dave" whilst I sighed and told him that, no, there was no "Dave" here.) it was my Dad. Apparently, his work is being shut down and probably moved to England within the year. He's going to have to sell the current place, and possibly move with his job.

So, it looks like I'm going to have to get out of here pronto and find myself somewhere to stay.

The Meet

Well, I suppose I better mention it.

To be honest, I can't think of much to say. I found out I was a natural at Croquet ("Hi girls", etc) and that the London Underground isn't unfathomable after all. It was my first visit to London since 1989, so it was nice to get a brief look at the city again although I missed out on the sights like Tower Bridge, Parliament and That Dome.

Oh, and "Hi" to the researchers I met for the first time, including Acid Override, Croz, Blues Shark, Frankie Roberto, Pasty, Bald Bloke and anyone else who I briefly chatted to and whose name I have subsequently forgotten. Oh, and Daroline for putting me up over the weekend and introducing me to the joys of rodents. smiley - mouse

And a big "Hi" to the Scottish Contingent that made the journey. And you don't want to know what I was calling you all in Hyde Park when me and Daroline couldn't find you all anywhere. smiley - blush

Silly Zag

Today I slashed my hand open whilst "overenthusiastically" closing a door. The metal handle broke and lacerated (well, that's what we put on the official accident report) my left hand. I managed to balance the spectacular amount of claret that welled up in my hand until I got to the office where it was duly mopped-up/stemmed with tissues. The nice people in the Ward 8 accident room gave me paper stitches and a large bandage which makes it look worse than it is.

And now I have to go all the way to Possilpark to see my GP for a tetanus injection. Ho hum.

Oh, and I'm not allowed to move the fingers on my left hand much so typing is less easy.

Bad Week

Yeah, I had a bad week.

Work was pretty vicious. A whole bunch of stuff needed done and forms were missing and I kept being interrupted and I got all stressed out. This started about Wednesday and kept it up through the week.

The great thing about medical files is if they don't fit properly into the cabinet (and they don't, the lack of space is the main thing I'm trying to deal with) then you can PUNCH them into place. Which is enormously good for taking out the massive amounts of pent-up aggression. And it works as far as putting the files into place goes. smiley - ok

There's all sorts of other things been bothering me too and I'm not going to go into them. Suffice to say, it's not been the best of weeks for me. I'm amazed at how I kept my temper with people. Well, most of the time smiley - blue.

Maybe next week will be brilliant. But probably not.

Now, where's a cold smiley - stout ?
