God smiles on me, in His own inimitable way
Posted Nov 14, 2003
1) I managed to pull a muscle (or suffer a spasm) in my back this morning whilst performing the strenuous task of, erm, getting dressed. Whilst it's not as bad as it has been (ie I can walk around and do things) it is still painful and gives me the manouverability of Old Man Steptoe.
2) I told a friend last night "Unbelievably, I have a full weekend, I'm fully booked Friday night, Saturday *and* Sunday!" As seems inevitable when I make optimistic assumptions, I am, er, now only partially booked.

I've felt better
I gave up on the novel, as I suspected I would. I got hit with writer's block about two paragraphs in. It's absurd to think you can just write 1000 words everyday. I'm going to concentrate on the short stories again and stop being so unrealistic.

I've joined this so I am forced to write every day, hurrah.
It's probably not going to be much good, but I don't really care.

That elbow band
Posted Oct 2, 2003
I'm off to see the awfully-named band "Elbow" tonight. Embarassingly, I can't remember if I like them or not, but W****e had a ticket going spare and I'm doing nothing more exciting of a Thursday night. I'm wearing my "Monkey with no name" T-Shirt so I can blend in with the student scum.
I'll do a full report in my weblog, and if you don't have the address of *that* bookmarked yet, then you can go hop into a sewer.
