True enough, tartaronne. When I was pregnant I didn't clue in until about four weeks, when I started feeling a bit queazy in the mornings. Then again, I was neither expecting or hoping to be pregnant, so that wasn't on my mind.
So yeah, the RELAX advice is quite good I think.
Meanwhile, kelli (*waves to kelli*) seems to have a good sense of humour happening about it all. And she also sounds rather relaxed about it. Even noticing that when you are hoping and expecting something to happen you start seeing *evidence* for it all over the place.
A question. When can you take those pharmacy-bought pregnancy tests? After a month or so? I really don't know.

As early as the morning after, so they bosat. Something about a hormone they detect.
Please, don't ask me why I know that .

*doesn't ask*
The shop bought ones? I thought that the 'first response' one claims to give an answer a few days before your period was due, but not earlier than that. I guess you might get a false negative if you tried it too early, before the hormone levels get high enough to detect reliably* and potentially you'd waste an absolute fortune every month for however long it takes! Think I'll wait a bit before attempting to pee on any sticks. I am pretty relaxed about the whole thing at the moment - excited that we've made the decision to try, but not too obsessive/compulsive about it yet. I am wondering whether or not I ought to have a glass of wine or two tonight though.
*I understand that you can never get a false positive though, so that is good.

Oh, maybe they say 'as soon as the first day after your period was due'. They definitely say something about 'first day after'.
So, I guess this means something is starting.

I happened to be in boots yesterday so I read one of the packs - definitely the day your period is due. The first response one gave some stats on the back - 4 days before period is due 53% of pregnant women tested positive, I forget the numbers for 3 and 2 days, and 87% one day before.
I'll wait - at £11.50 for two tests I don't want to piddle away all my money!

*crossed fingers*
Oohh, I missed this! Good luck!
*old and wise look* I remember the day the egg implanted - feeling hot and nauseous. Waaaayyy too early to feel anything but I did anyway.
Almost all variations on early pregnancy are normal, I think!

Ho Ho Ho
It appears we have achieved a state of knockeduppedness!
I did an early test as was visiting my mum and dad today and, having had my suspicions, thought they'd like some nice news if it came up positive.
There was a blue line in the window - a very faint blue line, but one that was none the less present
And now I'm terrified

Congratulations, Kelli. Of course, from now on your life is not your own. Everyone feels it their duty to advise on what you should be doing, not doing, drinking, not drinking; and when the baby finally arrives, everybody is an expert.
My advice is to do whatever feels natural for you.

Excellent advise, Gnomon. Kelli, your instincts will tell you what are the right things to do, so trust them.
This is so exciting.

I'm not telling too many people IRL just yet - will do the sensible thing and wait until after the scan. Is *very* exciting though - don't quite know how I'm going to keep quiet about it! When I told dad he looked all thoughtful then asked if I was taking that stuff s have. After a bit of puzzling it transpires that he meant formic acid
And my first moment - J looked a bit crestfallen, so I asked him what was up. He said it wasn't fair as he had only had one month of trying. I said if he wanted we couldd pretend to keep trying for another few months - he said 'oh, I thought you weren''t supposed to when you were pregnant!' Bless him, he thought that his sex life was pretty much over! No wonder he took a bit of winning around to the idea He looked a *lot* happier when I put him straight.
So, I guess this means something is starting.

Oh, and I feel a little bit guilty that this bit seems to have gone so smoothly when so many people find it hard
