Well, I'm on the folic acid and off the (occasional anyway) fags. Seems he agrees it is time to stop practising and start actually trying
Wonder how long it'll take?

I thought you meant a birthing pool for a minute.
I doubt Kelli will appreciate detailed questions about her menstrual cycle in order to best inform my guess, so I'll plump for July 2nd

Oh, and good luck, by the way.

Ta, and no MB, I won't be answering detailed questions on that! I hope both of your guesses are in the right sort of time frame, but I suspect it won't be quite that quick. Just have to wait and see I suppose, it could take years! I've got (almost) everything crossed anyway

Ooh, good luck! Fingers crossed that it all happens soon and extreme loveliness ensues.
The main thing, I have found, for me at least, is not actually to think about it that much, especially as it's all quite unlikely. No, wait, the MAIN main thing is to, err, have lots of sex, obviously. But the second main thing is not to think about it. I know if I spend too much time thinking about the functioning of my bits and how often and when and if and maybe I go dysfunctional and develop a humiliating tendency to go teary-eyed when watching women breast-feeding. Which, funnily enough, does not increase the frequency of one's marital relations - I'm too busy snivelling in a great swamp of self-pity and S is too scared to hug me in case I accidentally rip his head right off. So I don't think about it. Unless I am presented with liver pate and camembert, and then I give myself a headcase on the off-chance I was by some miracle pregnant without realising it and threfore should I eat, whoops, have eaten that cheese...
Whereas MY sister got pregnant by some guy she had been dating for approximately fifteen minutes. See? I'm the one who was terribly sensible and took precautions for YEARS, and now I find I probably didn't need to (bitter laughter) and she, oh, for, heckitty's, sake... I should shut up right about now, I think.
So. Think about spring flowers and stuff instead. And eat chocolate.

for Agapanthus - I know you are finding it a bit tough and I don't know yet if that is what it'll be like for me. But I like the advice
You do realise what you really need to do to get knocked up don't you? Ensure that you really can't afford it just yet, then go down to a slightly shabby local on a friday night, get completely hammered on something that is a very unnatural colour and has *lots* of E-Numbers accomapnying the alcohol, do something you will be embarrassed about forever, do something naughty in the ladies (or car park) and then if you can manage it, acquire yourself an ASBO. Seems to work well enough for the girls who live on the estate I grew up on...

Have you read A467912? There's advice in there on how to get pregnant. As far as I can remember, I wrote that bit, although it was more than four years ago.

Lots of sex you say? Hmmm, think I can manage that
As I said, I don't think anything will happen quickly unless we are very, very lucky. Weird thing though, having spent years trying not to get knocked up it is quite difficult to throw caution to the wind. Feels a bit naughty

Good luck, kelli!
I got pregnant with my first one on the very first try. Took us 5 years to manage the second one. Go figure!

It's interesting to note that the normal length of pregnancy is 38 weeks from conception, not 40 as many people believe. Normal practice is to count from the last period, which is where the figure of 40 comes from. So the first two weeks of pregnancy are the easiest, because they happen before the conception.

You didn't find all those people trying to time it to have a millennium baby and being two weeks out amusing, then, B?

Very dear Kelli,big big
Enjoy creating the new babe. That is my advice It's the greatest achievement of one's life, and it is sad if it happens too easily!!
Much affectionate
Christiane
Wny the folic acid? I take it to keep my ancient grey cells from getting demented!!
But certainly lots of calcium in whatever form you choose and probably no smoking - if you do.
