kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

Thanks for the smiley - hug AR1,
Folic acid is taken to help guard against neural tube defects in the development of the foetus and is ideally taken for several months before conception and then throughout the pregnancy - there has been a lot of discussion about adding it to bread in this country so that people who fall pregnant accidentally will have been getting more of it. smiley - sillyPossibly it also helps to prevent new mums getting too demented, although looking at my mum (bless her, smooch) the effect is only temporary smiley - winkeye

Have upped my calcium intake too smiley - ok

I hope it doesn't take *too* long...

Dear heart, big smiley - hug

I am sure that s/he will come at the right time. Just enjoy the creation and your two canine babes whilst you do it.

I did not know that about folic acid. So it is obviously true that it helps the ageing process in the brain. I have been taking it for nearly three years and I do know that my memory has defintely improved, both on short-term and long-term. Sadly the medical fraternity will not be interested because it is not expensive!!. As it is also alternative medcine they will suspect it immediately!

With affection

So, day four of (almost certainly) psychosomatic morning sickness. Cripes! Was is it going to be like when it is *real*?

Well, I suppose I can't say for certain, but unless this feeling comes pretty much from the first day after conception then I'd say it was unlikely smiley - biggrin

I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks. I was hoping to bloom through my pregnancy rather than vomit my way through it smiley - laugh

Jacob's cream crackers! And plenty of them. They help - honest.

Hmmm, although morning sickness usually happens within the first three months I reckon at least a month or so has to pass before this sets in.

If implantation take three days I'd guess it takes that long *at the very least* but I suppose this is good practice smiley - laugh

Ginger is good for combating nausea - I am guzzling an endless stream of ginger tea and it is helping a lot smiley - tea Am starting to slosh a bit now though! Perhaps I should have some crackers to soak it up smiley - silly

In my experience, it can. I certainly felt different, had a funny taste in my mouth almost straightway ie the next day.

Are you still feeling sicky, then, Kelli?

My aunt-who-is-a-midwife also lists tender boobs, unusually hard nipples, and funny little crampy pains like just before a period (not confusing then), increased need to pee and increased, ummm, discharge as being signs of extremely early pregnancy. But, as she points out regularly, you could have none at all of the above as well.

Thanks Ag and Christiane - yes, I'm still feeling icky - but the longer it goes on, the more I'm convinced I'm just making myself feel this way out of wishful thinking! Maybe I should get myself some of those placebo pills that I hear have marvellous effects on all sorts of ailments... smiley - run

Yes. Take it easy and stay happy - and keep your very good sense of humour. smiley - hug

This is a difficult and sensible subject, really. Times have changed and in our part of the world we are able to and want to plan when to have a child - with all the pros and cons that leads to.

I hear - but not from what you can call reliable sources - that relaxed is better. It appeals to my common sense, though. That it is much better to laugh and try to take things as they come, indulge and be happy for and enjoy what you and J have - than to anticipate, hope, worry and - maybe - get disappointed. But hard to convince your emotions and biological clock to respond to, I know.

I cannot remember how I felt a early stages of pregnancy - the first time I didn't discover it untill was 4½ months into it. (Not planned! - and a long story.)

I'll expect you just have to wait it out. Nothing really can affirm you before you can have a positive test.

smiley - hug
