Who wants to know about my day?
Posted Feb 27, 2007
Everyone?
Well, if you insist.
It all started Saturday night...
I was on msn with Terri and one of my hamsters started yelling. She said "eeeEEEKKKEEE!!!" I did this-> And went to check on them and they were both fine. But sure enough she kept yelling. "EEEKeeeKEE" she said. "Sshhh" said I. "WEEEEG" she answered.
Anyways, the point is, they did that ALL BLOODY NIGHT! I barely slept because they kept yelling. I tried giving them extra food to collect, which shut them up for about ten minutes each time. I tried super-fun toys, nothing worked for more than ten minutes. Finally, at about ten to five in the morning I thought, forget it, I'll give them their wheel and they can play on that and stop squealing.
So I did.
And the wheel was very loud and I worried that it would wake someone else up so I only let them have it for ten minutes. Then I took them out in their hamster balls so they could run around the room quietly. Quietly, ha!
Pepper kept ramming the wall (because that's her favourate thing to do). So they were out for about twenty minutes. Remarkably, they went to sleep when I put them back in their cage, at about five thirty in the morning.
Sounds nice right? But wait! Cue bunny. He's upset about something and starts darting around in his pen. Well, I should have known that bunny doesn't cry wolf. Sure enough I hear the hamster wheel (which I put on the dresser in front of the cage) hit the floor. Oh no! Cinnamon must have snuck out... and somehow pushed the wheel off the dresser.
I turned on the light in time to see Killer run out of the room and see that the hamster cage was very close to falling off the dresser itself.
Moral time: Always listen to bunny when he says something is up!
So, everything should be fine now. Except that with all that excitement guess who woke up. I'll give you a hint "Squeeeaakk!!!" So no sleep Saturday night, very tired Sunday.
Now Sunday night. For some reason I just couldn't sleep Sunday night. I kept waking up every couple hours. I was confident enough in my not-sleeping-ability that I didn't bother to leave my alarm clock on. I just turned it off so noone else would have to hear it and stayed in bed... Not sleeping.
I left the house at eight to get to my philosophy lecture at ten and it was cancelled... That's right cancelled. Which would have been lovely if I found out about it before I left the house. My next class doesn't start until one so I had three hours to kill in between. I had a midterm today that I hadn't done the reading for so I did the reading while waiting for environment.
I was sitting in the building where my environment lecture is and sure enough, at about ten to one, my psychology lab partner finds me and tells me that our report that we thought was due next Monday was acually due today by five.
She just found out that morning and I found out when she told me. Now, how lab works is there are week one labs and week two labs and you have a lab every other week. Ours is next Monday. Every other lab assignment that we've had has been due at the beginning of our own lab. Apparently this one wasn't, although she never bothered to actually say that in any of the labs. So we rushed to get it done before we had to be in anthropology writing a midterm. And we finished, and we sent it to the printer, and there was no paper. Three different people went to computer services so we could have paper and after twenty minutes it never came. There was only ten minutes until our midterm so we tried to plead with th elab lady who eventually suggested that we could e-mail it to her and she would print it for us. So we did. And we barely made it to the midterm on time. But we did it.
Wow, this is really long. I think I'll stop there.

Just letting you know...
Posted Feb 16, 2007
I am having some hotmail problems, so if you try and e-mail me I may not get it. I discovered this because I've been trying to e-mail myself something for school and it will not work! I'm also having trouble sending e-mails.
Anyways, for anyone who sends me anything, if I don't reply I'm not ignoring you, hotmail is just being mean to me.

And it's not even Funuary...
Posted Jan 30, 2007
Hello one and all.
I am hear with a bit of sad news.
Patches died this past Saturday. He was a very old kitty (about 15). He had a growth in his stomach and one on each side of his mouth. He was sick for a very long time, getting better periodically and then getting worse again. He and Stripes
were the long time rulers of my grandfathers house and now it's up to Stripes to do it on her own. She's the same age as Patches but she is very healthy still.
My parents came to visit Saturday and just as my Mom and I were about to go out we saw Patches walking over from the kitchen. He started stumbling and fell in front of me on the shoes in the front hall. I picked him up and put him back into his bed. That was the first time I have ever picked that cat up in my life. He has always been a very strong and independant kitty. Although he would climb onto your lap when he felt like it.
The last time he went to the vet my grandfather was told he had a few months. When I saw him stumbling I was pretty sure he would go sometime during the week but I did NOT think it would be the same day or I would have stayed home. My mom and I went out and my cousin and his wife were the only ones home. They were with Patches when he died and say it was not peaceful. We are all very glad my grandfather wasn't home for it.
All this and we haven't even gotten to Funuary yet. S (cousin-in-law) and I renamed February last year because of how very very bad the month was. It included such things as my grandmothers death the day after my best-friends father's memorial and other tragedies. I am glad that Patches didn't die in February. I think it would have been too much for my grandfather, who has been in a much better mood these past couple weeks than he has been in a while.
I used to have some really nice pictures of Patches but they are lost now because of my laptop dying. The only picture I have now I took a few days ago so you can really see that he's sick. He's been like a skeleton for a while now. I'm not going to put a picture of him up anywhere until I can find a nicer one but if anyone wants to see what he looked like I can e-mail the picture I have. He was a pretty cat.
Anyways, that's probably long enough.

New Critters
Posted Jan 6, 2007
So over the holiday I brought home two female Campbell's Russian Dwarf Hamsters. They are absolutely adorable and very active.
One looks like the very bottom picture on this page...

The "chocolate" coloured one.
The other looks like these "umbrous" ones...

Again it's the last picture. She's a bit darker though.
The chocolate one is the really friendly and relaxed one. She's also the escape artist (amusing story about that later). They are waaaaay smaller than they look. Apparently most of them is fur. They are currently cuddled up sleeping together awaiting names. They've been here for three days and were at my parents with me for a few days before that and I still haven't named them!
That's probably the least boring thing that's new with me so I thought I'd share it.

Takin' A Break!
Posted Nov 21, 2006
So... I'm taking a break from the internet... Sorta... I know I have randomly disappeared in the past and you're probably wondering why I'm bothering to write a jounal entry this time. Well here's why: The other times were unplanned, I was just too busy / there was too much nasty RL goings-on. This time I am making a conscious decision to stay away from the internet... Again, sorta. I'll still be using it for school, because I have to, and for e-mail. So feel free to e-mail me if you have my address and want to. I always love e-mails.
I'm not sure how long I'll be off for. It depends on how certain things go. So I won't be on h2g2 or DeviantArt starting from tomorrow until sometime. Don't worry, everything in RL is just fine. School is going very well indeed, everyone in my family is in decent or too-be-expected health and I am fine.
Anyways, I'm logging off to find food but I will be back again tonight.
