Bye bye bunnies

Today Elphabasmiley - bunny and Potatosmiley - bunny were taken to the OSPCA.

For those who don't know I moved with Yerosmiley - illsmiley - bunny in March 2006 and since I was moving into a small room in a small apartment I couldn't take Elphaba with me. I could only take one of them and Yero is younger, wasn't neutered at the time, and has two bacterial infections (pasteurella and pseudomonas). I had planned to take Elphaba once I had more room. I moved again, but my room is not much bigger and I still couldn't take her. I was told that I would be getting more room... Which I should have had by now if people weren't full of it. I was going to take Potato as well (even though she's my brothers rabbit, he didn't want to look after her and she's my little lop).

So, I ran out of time and they were surrendered today. Maybe I should have moved again so I could take them? I knew this was coming.

Elphaba has never lived in a cage and now she's going to be stuck in one in the small backroom for a while. And when they decide she's adoptable she'll be stuck in one in the adoption area... There is a chance she'll get to be in a pen, that would be good. She'll probably be adopted quickly though she's friendly and a rex (very very soft bunny). All of the pictures I have of her are from when she was still practically a kit.

Potato has lived in a cage. She lived in a jumbo bunny cage for a while before we got her a pen. She did not do well in the cage. She is very very skiddish and not too great with people (she doesn't bite or anything). She needs mega-socializing and I think she really needs to be adopted by someone who's had rabbits before. She can be really sweet but she's afraid. She's a lop so she'll probably go quickly because for some reason everyone always wants lops.

They're also used to living beside one another but they fight badly if they're in the same space.

And then there's evil dog stuff... We shall see how that unfolds I suppose.

Apparently I'm a psycho!

So a while ago I explained to my younger brother how I thought someone was manipulating someone else (which I won't explain on here because it's a personal kind of thing) and he explained it to my older brother. Afterwards he says "I wish I could think of things like that on my own but I'm not an evil mastermind. A's (me) a psycho."smiley - laughsmiley - laugh I found it very amusing indeed!

And it's raining again. Yay!smiley - magic

first day on the job

Well I did it. I took the babysitting job for the summer. I'm staying at my parents. I'll be on here as much as possible to prevent myself from going crazy(er)!

I had my first day with them today and I actually really like the kids. They're fun and reasonably well behaved (at least compared to other kids I've minded- and I've done fulltime stuff). Their mom says "give them until Thursday".smiley - laugh

Only one problem. We were out in the lousy, bad, yucky sun all day and now I am very sunburnt indeed. The sun and I don't get along too well at times (this is my second sunburn this year). It also gives me a headache. And I'm very heat sensitive so I need to come up with a plan for being outdoors with children in the summer. Any ideas?

I'm fairly sure I can survive on babysitting money... Hopefully I'm actually right about that. It's easier because I don't have to pay rent at home while I'm here. Obviously I'll give money to my parents (although they've said they don't want me to).

All in all it was a fairly good day and not too long. Tomorrow I start two hours earlier.

Anyways, I still haven't told anyone at home that I'm staying here for the summer... I should probably do that soon!smiley - laugh
