The Jeweled Cichlid... It's staring at me!!!
Posted May 16, 2007
Bonjour!
I'm am currently at my parents house with a fish staring at me. I think he wants something. Oh, he stopped.
Anyways... Here's what I've been doing... Not alot.
I was kidnapped by a couple of friends that I haven't seen in a loooong time (one of them I hadn't seen in maybe three years) last night. They bought me dinner and ice cream. Yay!
Then another friend took me out for lunch today, followed by more ice cream. Yay!
I'm at my parents, which I have mixed feelings about. I like visiting my family, but at the same time I don't have my own space here and I've been here for more than a week now. is with me so it's not too bad. They really want me to stay for the summer to the extent that my mom has even found a job for me here.
I'm not too sure what I want to do though. I miss my room!
On the one hand, it's a guaranteed job. If I go home I have to find a job. I've never had a problem finding a job so I'm not too worried about that, but it is nice to have something certain going on after all the chaos in the last few months.
On the other hand, I am basically a guest here. I don't have a room or much privacy. All of my stuff is at home (but I can go get some of it). Also, I tend to take on a lot of extra family responsibility-type stuff when I'm here and it's very draining. But I could help out financially if I'm here and if I figure out what I need to pay rentwise at home if I'm not actually there. We shall see.
My younger brother wants me to teach him to play guitar... Which I haven't done in maybe four years (bass about three). So I'm trying to remember easy songs that he would know.
Rambling is fun... But I'll stop now.
So, how's everybody else?

Crazy laundry detergent people!
Posted Apr 23, 2007
I just started some laundry and it reminded me of something so I decided to take a break from reading and tell someone.
I buy "cold water" laundry detergent and then wash my close with cold water because I prefer it. Ain't no thang. Recently a certain laundry detergent company has decided to stick extra (rather large) cardboard tag thingies on their cold water detergent advertising the superiority of washing your clothes in cold water because it saves energy. They say they are being environmentally friendly.
Does this seem silly to anyone else?
What about the cardboard and ink used in those tags?
What about all the tags that will be thrown in the garbage?
Not to mention the energy wasted and waste produced actually making the things!
Silly, silly laundry detergent people. Who are they kidding?
Anyways, little rant over.
(I wonder if I've already complained about this...)

I have NEWS!
Posted Apr 9, 2007
I wasn't going to come on here tonight due to my extreme headache and hatred of looking at computer screens right now but I did. I did because, as the title suggests, I have News. With a capital 'N'.
Firstly: My anthropology essay is finished. Yay!!!
Actual news: My sister is in labour.
Some of you are saying "your sister was pregnant?" While others are saying "you have a sister?" And the answer to both of those questions is yes.
For those of you who don't know, my immediate family consists of my parents, my older brother(21), me(20), my younger sister(18) and my younger brother(16).
My sister is having a baby... 'Tis very weird. My mom is probably very excited because (if you couldn't tell from how close in age her *four* kids are) she is slightly obsessed with babies. M (sister) is early, I believe her due date was end of April.
Anyways, all I know is that she is in the hospital right now. I shall share more information when I get it. Now is bed time!

Poor, poor me...
Posted Mar 27, 2007
*sigh* I am ill. At about one thirty this morning I got out of bed to throw-up.
I don't have time to be sick right now.
'Tis not fun.
I woke up in time to get to school today but I decided to go back to sleep. I didn't stay home and rest though. I stayed home and wrote a research report. Tomorrow I'm staying home to write some essays... Maybe I can rest a bit then. We shall see. Oh, and my anthropology lecture on Wednesday has been cancelled, which means I missed the only anthro lecture for this week today.
And then there's family stuff that I can't do anything about because I don't live there... And there's stuff that I'm helping my brother with over the phone which is *very* draining. And my parents want to put my dog down, but have promised that we will not discuss it until May. So the first thing I get to deal with after exams is having my dog killed.
My nerves are shot. My stomach is angry with me. I am tired.
Group !!!
