h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I just started some laundry and it reminded me of something so I decided to take a break from reading and tell someone.

I buy "cold water" laundry detergent and then wash my close with cold water because I prefer it. Ain't no thang. Recently a certain laundry detergent company has decided to stick extra (rather large) cardboard tag thingies on their cold water detergent advertising the superiority of washing your clothes in cold water because it saves energy. They say they are being environmentally friendly.

Does this seem silly to anyone else?

What about the cardboard and ink used in those tags?
What about all the tags that will be thrown in the garbage?
Not to mention the energy wasted and waste produced actually making the things!

Silly, silly laundry detergent people. Who are they kidding?

Anyways, little rant over.

Pffft! Don't talk to me about laundry

I've been doing battle with a certain moth problem for almost 4 years now...everytime I breathe a sigh of relief and believe I've finally got rid of the s, I spot a couple flitting about in the wardrobes

So, I have,once again, every item of clothing that I and my son possess in the process of being laundered, all items of furniture are being cleaned and mothproofed, and toxic fumes have been sprayed in each room. Right now, I'm tempted to just set fire to the whole damn flat and be done with it Except I don't think my neighbours wold appreciate that...then there's the whole being homeless thing to considerbut then, I really do detest ironing.*sigh*

Cold water? Really? Does that actually get clothes properly clean though?

Eeek! Sorry about your moth problem. That is very annoying indeed.

And cold water really does clean clothes! Of course if I have to use powdered detergent I start with warm water because I find it doesn't dissolve properly in cold.

I don't iron at all. In fact, I barely even fold. I mostly just throw things in my drawer what ever way they fit.

Anywho, I have an exam to get to now.

Baths are finished in my house now, that warm water is in the washing machine and washing todays clothing as normal

I do laundry as infrequently as I can.

In my house it means at the end of the day when you strip for the bath ,. just drop your clothes in the machine cause the bath water is going in there too and everything will get washed around midnight.
just got to make sure it doesn't rain today before I get the washing in

Yes, that would be bad!
