Oh no!!!
Posted Aug 9, 2005
I think I may have a serious problem! I think this for the following reasons...
1) It's 2:30 in the morning and I just logged off 15 minutes ago and now I'm back on again.
2) I was having withdrawls all day because I couldn't log on
3) I've already recruited my cousin and younger brother to h2g2 (although I think my cousin would have done it on his own)
4) The reason I logged off 15 minutes ago was to create an account for my little brother
But I think I'll log off for real this time
Ciao

The Great Bug Story
Posted Aug 5, 2005
Buggert was a small brown beetle-type bug who loved his family, and indeed everyone in his village. One day he was out alone and in search of food. Times were hard and there was none to be found. He had to journey back home a failure, yet again.
He climbed over stone after stone hoping to make it back before nightfall.
Suddenly a huge gust of wind took him and threw him on to his back. He flailed his many legs about and tried to twist and turn himself over.
Relief. He was the right way up again. He knew he had to hurry, as the next gust could not be far behind.
And it wasn't.
He found himself on his back again. He flailed and rolled yet again, but nothing seemed to work. For nearly two minutes he was rolling and twisting and making no progress. He even had to stop on occasion to take breaks.
Then, and oh it was a miracle, a great twig came down from the sky. It came down upon him to deliver him from his plight. The twig first tried to flip him over, but he feared the pain this fall would cause. He instead grabbed on to the twig with every one of his tired little legs.
The twig was set down on the ground and he was able to let go of it and continue on his journey.
Oh, what an amazing thing to have happened. He and all the village had thought that he was a doomed failure, but the Great Bug Lord knew better. Oh yes, the Great Bug Lord had saved him!
He would hurry all the more now, he must tell the village. He must tell them that they needn't fear. The Great Bug Lord will bring them their food. The Great Bug Lord wanted only their faith and devotion, and perhaps the occasional sacrifice.
His little legs took him three stones in the time it would usually take him to cross two. All was right, he knew the will of The Great Bug Lord. He could continue his journey without doubt and without fear.
But alas, the wind is a powerful force and threw him onto his back again. "I will not fear", thought he, "for The Great Bug Lord will come to my aid again with the Twig of Good Faith". He did not move. He lay on his back and waited for the Twig of Good Faith to come.
He continued to wait and nothing continued to happen. He then remembered what his mother had told him long ago, The Great Bug Lord helps those who help themselves.
Of course! He could not expect The Great Bug Lord to do all of the work. He began to twist and roll and flail slighty, and sure enough the Twig of Good Faith returned. "Oh Great Bug Lord how wonderous are thee?" he exclaimed.
But fear grew inside of him.
What if that was to be the last time The Great Bug Lord would help him?
What if his new found confidence had some how offended The Great Bug Lord?
He must be more humble, he must have more faith.
He hung on to the Twig of Good Faith. He hung on and would not let go. For a full three minutes he hugged that wonderful Twig and made not a single movement. He finally decided to move, but thought it best to let go of the Twig slowly.
He walked along the Twig of Good Faith planning to get off and continue his journey when he got to the end.
The end came. He tried to get off but fear gripped his tiny heart. He turned around and walked to the other end. Surely he could get off there?
The other end came and he turned around again.

Meanwhile...
I sat on the bench at the bus stop and looked down at the bug that I had twice but back onto his feet. I had seen him fall and get back up that first time, but the next time he was unable to. I watched for a long time then decided I had to help. I found a nearby stem from off of a fallen leaf and flipped him over with that. But when I helped the second time he would not let go. I thought he might have died and was some how stuck. But he eventually got up and started to walk. He would walk only on the stem. A passerby was about to step on my new found bug friend.
"Be careful," I said, "you almost stepped on that bug".
"Well," they replied, "you don't seem to care about all the other bugs I'm stepping on".
I thought for a moment and answered, "There are too many of them, I couldn't possibly help them all".
* * *
The rest of his life was spent clinging to the Twig of Good Faith. He never got off, he never again saw his family or the village that he loved.

Ahhh!!!!

Ahhh!!!!!!!! My cousin, who's place I'm in, lives above a bar. It's a very small bar that feels they need very big amplifiers turned up very loud. Perhaps you're familiar with the phrase,over-amplified, under-talented? Well it applies.
It isn't too late here, only 11:13pm... but the music is just very annoying. So is the screaming! Ah well. Thank goodness for h2g2 to keep me distracted.
I'm still new and this is only my 2nd journal entry. My last one was only a couple of hours ago though(sad or what?)!
I spent all day walking around down town with my bad knee and mysterious heart problem that may or may not exist, so I'm tired. I think I'll retire soon to watch a movie!
... oh god, now the bar is murdering David Bowie. Noooo!!!!
The worst part is,they try(very poorly) to sound like the original vocals. The Neil Young yesterday would have been hilarious if it wasn't so awful!
Such is life!

Am I actually wrighting a journal entry?!? Hurray!!!!!
Hmmm, I'm not really sure what I should be writing in here... I probably should have looked at a couple of journal entries first.
I'll just throw out some information about me in case anyone's interested!
I'm a female. I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm 18... until October 15th/05. I graduated from highschool, worked for a year. It was awful. So I quit, bought this new laptop and decided to be temporarily unemployed.
I'm eventually going to university, but I haven't applied yet because I have no idea what I want to do... possibly psychology or one of the other social sciences.
I have been described as insane, "strange", cynical and pessimistic by friends, family and strangers . I'm actually a realist, though
!
That's all I can think of right now...
