I promised a happy journal entry...

Alrighty, I promised my next journal entry would be happy and I'm currently in a bad mood so this will be an attempt to cheer myself up!smiley - somersaultsmiley - magicsmiley - disco

I am currently forcing myself to write a short story because I haven't written anything in over a year. I started my short story a few weeks ago and wrote about two pages and then went on to ignore it.smiley - laugh

What I'm going to do is post the first bit of the story and then you, the viewers smiley - rofl, decide if I should bother finishing it and maybe posting it on here as a guide entry? (Thinking of the Underguide of course.)

Drum roll please...

The Curse! (cue scary sound effects)

It was a dark and very windy- but not particularily stormy, certainly *cold*- Wednesday night when I got a lift back to Bradford and went home to bed...

I woke up Thursday morning with a pain on my right shin. It felt as if I had been kicked while asleep. I assume it was from the way I was sleeping, although I don't know what way that was.smiley - erm Or I suppose it could have been ghosts. (We all know which is more likely...smiley - ghost) The pain wasn't too bad though and I was up and about all day Thursday and the pain eventually disappeared completely.

Thursday night I was sitting quietly on my couch waiting for my mother and brother to sort out their differences.

They were having a couch war. My mother wanted to sit down, my brother wanted to prevent it. Somehow my mom ended up standing over me with a huge bowl of popcorn in one hand and a very hot tea in the other. I'm sure you have a fair idea of what happened next!

That's right. Down comes tea on little old me.smiley - yikessmiley - tea

At first just a little bit of tea was spilt. It was about the size of a coster on my very upper left leg. My caring and sympathetic mom burst out laughing and proceeded to "accidently" spill about half the cup onto my lap. She responded to my second scolding by laughing and "accidently" pouring most of the rest of the very hot tea on my lap!*

She claims that my brother pushed her causing her to spill the tea. So how did she spill it three different times laughing all the way, smiley - musicalnoteha ha ha?smiley - huh

Needless to say, I ran downstairs and got changed right away.smiley - run
Things didn't appear to be *too* red but OUCH!smiley - grr

I later bit my tongue and it is still red and puffysmiley - groan

The situation calmed down and I eventually went to bed.

My usual bedtime routine is: saying goodnight to the smiley - bunnys, opening the basement door(my room is in the basement), turning on the light so my 15 year old smiley - dog can go downstairs without falling, turning off the light, walking downstairs myself(in the dark), and wandering through my underground basement to get to my room and turn on my light so my dog can find his way in to the room.

I turned on the light for Bensmiley - dog. Ben went down. I turned off the light. I went down. I didn't count on someone leaving junk all over the floor down there.

I stumbled a couple of times before tripping on something(couldn't tell what as there was *no* light). I tripped and smashed my face off of a dresser(I later found out it was a dresser, I didn't know at the time) that I wasn't even aware was there!

I became disoriented and somehow ended up in a room being pulled down by "vines". I realized that it wasn't vines when I saw my little brothers alarm clock attached to it and from that deduced that I was in his room.

I got out of his room and found the thing I had tripped on, a binder, and smashed it on the floor. I stumbled back to my room smashing things all the way, still in complete darkness.

I spotted my alarm clock and made my way into my room.

I turned on my light.

I hurried upstairs to wash the blood off my chinsmiley - injured

I went back downstairs and went to bed only to wake up to discover the offending smiley - ghost had turned into a smiley - monster and my shin has been killing all day! And to top off a couple of lovely days, I burnt my mouth during dinner tonight.

I've decided that it's probably best *not* to get out of bed tomorrow. Or perhaps I should wear some sort of safety suitsmiley - huh

*It probably was an accident but nobody has ever described me as *not* paranoid and cynical.
