regarding taylor Swift:

I know I've opened a smiley - canofworms. smiley - footinmouth

Some music seems to be very popular in some regions, and not popular in others. I'm fine with that. I'd just like to have some inkling of what the lyrics are, if there are lyrics.

Pop singers are not the only ones who mumble or worse. Opera singers are sometimes guilty of poor enunciation. I loved Dame Joan Sutherland's voice, but you could not figure out what she was singing smiley - huh. There's an expression for what opera singers sound like when singing in English: Opera singers' English. smiley - laugh

Pavarotti's pronunciation was pretty good, but his English was heavily accented smiley - headhurts.

Evangeline

About long words: In 1981, the official longest word in the English language was in our 8th grade spelling book and our spelling test. The word was pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

Seriously though, I had my hearing checked a couple of years ago and was told it was perfect. Not only for a person my age but in general. That was good to hear (no pun intended) because I couldn't live without music, I listen to music whenever I can.

My eyesight is another story but I get by as long as I have my glasses smiley - geek

By the time my parents were my age (71), they both had serious hearing loss, though their problems were caused by different things.

Mostly, if I don't hear something, it;'s because I'm not trying very hard to hear it. smiley - evilgrinsmiley - whistle
