This is not a big monster storm, but it's big enough.

They originally predicted 6 to 12 inches of snow here, then this morning they upgraded it to 12 to 18 inches. What we have now is about 12 inches, so both forecasts seem to be in range.

Ha! That's where this is coming from. We are looking out the window and cussing at all this snow.

It' about 13 degrees Fahrenheit here right now. It'll go down another degree or so overnight, then go as high as 20 on Friday.

I will not post our temps, even though a cold front is coming through.

We've been rather sparse with the snow this season, but the ice pellets and freezing rain keep the driving of vehicles interesting . . .

We're expecting a few snow showers in the UK today and tomorrow.

I once believed that the Weather Gawds of Newfoundland liked me. I arrived there in April, '78 - 2 days after much of 2 feet of snow blanketed the island. And the full 4 years that I lived and worked there, I never saw more than a few new inches at a time.

But the year after I left, they had close to 4 feet of snow by Christmas. And the winters have been strong ever since.

Here in the UK we will be lucky if we get an inch. Because of the position of the UK, we are more likely to get wet and windy (mild) Atlantic driven weather from the Westerlies from the Atlantic ocean. We are so close to the European continent but rarely ever get their cold weather, the UK would have to be re-positioned at least 100 miles our weather would be a lot different.

He's still trucking along. I expect to see him tomorrow. His weekend routine is: bring trash to the Dump, get prescriptions at the drugstore, and buy groceries at the supermarket.

are there neighbours who will snow shift for him ?

It's a laconic small town. He's lucky he can get someone who will get around to it before June.

I was sort of kidding. My Dad pays the guy very well, and the snow gets plowed promptly. Money talks in a wide variety of languages.

Since my heart flolloped, I have to pay a guy to deal with the snow and grass cuttings. Fortunately, our Veteran's Affairs provides fund for that, and some of the house-keeping. And this guy is very efficient and fair priced.

I've heard of snowstorms, but do grass cuttings fall in flurries too?
