Why not? He was as naughty as they come, was ol' Henry Purcell.

Now, why can't the Brits pick a Purcel CD for the Christmas No 1 record and show up Simon Cowell this time? Better than punk.

Let Phyllis by her voice but charm the air......
I attempt from love's sickness to fly away......
I come to sing brave Sempoallah's story,
Whose beauteous sight
So charming bright
outsahines her luster of glory....

She's long dead. She was the title character of Purcell's semi-opera "The Indian Queen." She might have been a contemporary of Montezuma...

She was a leader of the Senecas. I wonder if there are any Senecas left?

Yes, there are some still around - try near the Cornell University campus, I think, since they live near the Cayugas. (Cornell is in Ithaca, New York, and its alma mater song starts 'Far above Cayuga's waters...
')
I imagine the Seneca knew Queen Aliquippa, but they probably didn't get along much. The Seneca were Iroquois, I believe. Having recently rewritten the Indian lessons for the high schoolers, I'm up on the Iroquois.
If some of their young men died, the Iroquois would have a mourning war to replace them. It made them, er, unpopular with their neighbours.

If the Iroquois River was named for the Iroquois Indians, then their range must have extended at least as far as Indiana and Illinois, where the river flows.
