I suppose Europe is a slightly better soundtrack than the Scissor Sisters single that they have been playing to death on Radio 2
I've just been given my compromise agreement and have to make an appointment to see a solicitor... this redundancy thing is all a bit too real now and I don't want to be here anymore. Looks like I might be spending a lot of time on line over the next 2.5 weeks!!!! Especially as my boss just saw what I am doing on my pc right now and didn't say a word!
How is your son getting on with his innitiation into the Hell of the working world?

Blimey, your boss turned a blind eye
you could have loads of fun now
Have you anything else lined up when you finish or are you going to do more boating
My lad is bored stupid at this work thingy, its his last day tomorrow and he cant wait to go back to school

Another typical work day listening to Radio 2 (or I was until the Scissor Sisters came on AGAIN!), just done my tesco shopping, circulated a few humourous emails and dealt out extreme sarcasm to a few unsuspecting non-thinkers... the next 2 weeks could be good fun!
I have nothing lined up as yet but I am prepared to go temping until something good turns up. In the 20 years I have been working I have never been out of work, have never signed on and don't intend to start now! Will be out on the at every opportunity though!
Shame about your lads work experience , there's nothing like putting kids off work at an early age!!!!!

give em hell lass
Temping is ok, it will bide the time until something else comes along and keeps you actively working, i had a little gap from work once and was bored to death, only thing that kept me going was the alcohol

I once temped for a year (that was when I was close to a breakdown and just couldn’t handle any work pressure – a least when you temp you can walk out when you feel like it and avoid the office politics). I am pleased to say that those days seem like a lifetime away! I am concerned about the boredom factor though and am not relishing the ideal of ending up back at the bottom… I have definitely moved into the stomach-churning phase now!!!
As for the we didn’t go out at the weekend… the plan was to go on Sunday but he drank 2 cans lager whilst cooking dinner and as he cannot swim very well I refused to go out on the river and take responsibility for him if he capsized. Instead he sat and drank all afternoon/evening and I had to laugh when I caught him sneaking out of the back gate to buy more beer without me knowing!!!
It has taken me hours to write this – have typed it up in word and pasted it across – at least the spelling is ok!!! I need to go out on my I am far too right now!!!

Only a week and a bit left for you, dont get too het up at work, stroll through the remaining days

Work is only getting to me because I am generally unsettled .. I am still a control freak at heart and way out of my comfort zone!!!!
I have a reduced week next week anyway, I am off on Monday to recover from the Cult gig on Sunday, I have a half day on Wednesday and I have my meeting to sign my compromise agreement at 10.00 am on the Friday after which my contract with the company is no longer valid
Any Advice?!

Not knowing whats around the corner can be frightening, that 'what next' step
the Cult, were they good

It seems people rarely get what they want in life... I don't want to work and only do it to pay the bills; my supervisor is getting a massive redundancy payment plus her pension, she is 54 and is investing £100k but is desperate to get another job. I don't want to wish my life away but I would be happy as a pig in mud if I was in her position. I'd be planning some travelling and rejoicing in my excellent fortune.
I will let you know all about the gig next week - we are meeting up with some people we met at the Sisters of Mercy gig so I am looking forward to seeing them too.

I would love to retire now, have loads of dosh in the bank and do all the things i want to do, no hold backs to ties to this and that, just live life to the full, maybe another 15 years, if i last that long and freedom

I keep praying to Ernie to pick my numbers but he's not listening!!!
I don't ask for much, I don't want a lavish lifestyle, just a chance to duck out of the rat race and live life at a more relaxed pace away from the city

Ive had bonds for years and years, not one a bloody thing
We won a tenner on the lottery about 4 weeks ago, its always the same numbers so we know we won, its the first time in about 5 years and wife cant remember what she did with the ticket
Any Advice?!
Muddling Through Posted Sep 25, 2006
I gave up on the Lottery after the first year when I realised I had spent £52 for nothing . At least it's only £10 you can't claim.. that would be awful to win the jackpot but not be able to claim it!!! Good luck with finding the ticket
I had 2 premium bonds that my mum bought when I was born and when I was 21 I got £100. Just recently I got another 100 bonds... fingers crossed!!!
I have just got out of bed and am a bit of a zombie after the cult gig last night. Definately worth the late night and partial deafness ! They didn't look like the cult though... the audience made the effort - but it was funny to see middle aged, fat, balding men trying to spike up the few hairs that remain!

Can they still rock though
I remember going to see The Sweet a few years back, they looked sh*t, they sounded sh*t, the venue was sh*t, but i loved it singing along to Blockbuster etc, i felt like a teeny bopper, in fact the whole crowd did and i bet there was no one there under 35
Any Advice?!
Muddling Through Posted Sep 26, 2006
They can most definately still rock
I am in a right state today and trying to pull myself together without much success! I don't really know why ... I can afford to take a little time off when I finish here on Friday but the idea of that sends me into a major panic! I need to take my own advice - . I know all the things I would be saying to others in this position but I am not listening to myself!

Its getting close now, isnt it
Stand in front of a mirror and pretend you are talking to someone else, have you joined any temp agencies or are you looking in the paper for a job
Any Advice?!
Muddling Through Posted Sep 27, 2006
Too close for comfort I keep feeling like I am going to throw up!!!
I am looking everywhere for jobs; agencies, papers, on-line...
The temp agencies are a bit stuck until I am actually out of work but I am sure they will come up with something pretty quickly. I can logically tell myself it will all be fine but having a few problems getting my emotions to match the logic!!!
How are things in sunny Windsor?
