Not sure what happened to my earlier reply but it seems to have gone AWOL!
The 'named' fish live indoors but we do have 3 in our pond as well. Have been proud owners of a series of collared Doves this week - unfortunately all 3 were dead by the time they took up residence in the bedroom. Thanks
How are things with you?

Wow, are we really on line at the same time
Poor doves, nasty cat
I am fine, my lad started 2 weeks of work experience today, 8:30am to 5:30 pm, bless him.....plus his paper round that starts tonight
Hows you lass
Any Advice?!
Muddling Through Posted Sep 6, 2006
OH No! Didn't realise you were on line earlier or I would have hung around a bit.
I am still and think I will be until Hubby gets another job and I get outa here! Stomach is churning rather a lot today and the future is scaring me a bit
but then I don't really like uncertainty. I am sure all will be fine and we will both have permanent jobs soon but until we do....
!!!
Any Advice?!

Never mind, your here now, or are you, your eyes have gone again
The future is a thing, but am sure you will muddle through it, like your name says
Why not move this way, plenty of job things here, plus i could get to see you
Any Advice?!
Muddling Through Posted Sep 6, 2006
I am still here but trying to do some work stuff too. Am going to duck out of the office and go out on the river in my kayak at 3.30 to try and relax and stop taking things too seriously!
I am looking everywhere for jobs but moving scares me too!!!! I know I am strong and I will get through this. Maybe now is the time to get a canal boat and leave the rat race behind!
What work experience is your son doing?
Any Advice?!
Marmite Posted Sep 6, 2006
Thats it get a boat or barge, work your way to the Thames and paddle down to Windsor.
The poor lad is working in an electrical store, he asked for something to do with cars but alas....
Any Advice?!
Muddling Through Posted Sep 6, 2006
That would be lovely - life on the water at 4mph... and that's only when in a hurry! What would it take, about a week to get to Windsor! Cool
I think even the
would like it as he crashes out in the shallow bit of the pond when hot!
I suppose cars and electrics are close !!! Shop work is soul destroying though - are they trying to put kids off wanting to work!!
Any Advice?!
Marmite Posted Sep 6, 2006
hey theres no boat smiley
, all i could find was
Its not an electrical shop as such, more of a small business trade place with warehouse, he has probably been shown how to get sandwiches and make coffee

Back in the 80's I spent 3 weeks filing used travellers cheques at Thomas Cook for my work experience oh what fun!
Right I am off on my (?!) with paddles for the rest of the afternoon.
Any Advice?!

My work experience was so good I wished I was back at school!!! How was your sons first day?
Yesterday afternoon was fantastic and very relaxing , the sun was glinting off gently lapping water, I tried talking to some cows on the river bank but they just looked at me like I was mad - maybe I was mooing in the wrong regional accent
!!!
Any Advice?!
Marmite Posted Sep 7, 2006
Not really too sure, he just grunted and groaned when he got in, then went out to play footie, so i guess it was ok
, they might have been illegal immicows, just got off the boat
Glad you had a nice relaxing time, its good to sometimes take time out for a while

Went out in the kayak again Sunday and tried saying "Moocjczooo" to the cows but still no response
... have come to the conclusion they are just ignorant!!
Hubby has a job and starts tomorrow, that's the first worry wiped-out and a good omen for the rest.
How was your weekend?
Oh yea, I also have a fat lip don't argue with a paddle
cos you wont win
!!!
Any Advice?!
Marmite Posted Sep 12, 2006
Like the other way when you pass the cows, see how they like it
Yea, for hubby, is he pleased with it
by a paddle eh, hope you werent trying to hit the cows
Did sod all at the weekend and thats the way i like it, although we did go food shopping on sunday and that was fun
.
Getting a new car tomorrow, why, cause we want to
Any Advice?!
Muddling Through Posted Sep 12, 2006
I am officially cowist now!! They have burnt their bridges and will no longer see the friendly side of me
... I have to say that I don't think they really care though!
Just spoke to Hubby and they have stuck him in the lowest role possible requiring no skill and is bored out of his mind ... he's only been there 2.5 hours! Hopefully it will improve or he will find something more suited but at least he is getting paid!
It wasn't my paddle weilding that was the problem ... say no more.
What car are you getting?
Any Advice?!
Marmite Posted Sep 12, 2006
Oi, what you doing here at this late time
He's starting right from the bottom then, but money is money lass, thats what counts, whats he doing.
Car is a Rover 75 thingy, we were just looking for the wife as she wanted a small car, but we ended up getting this big mother, not that it had anything to do with me

I'm at work for the next 20 mins (allegedly - think I might away in 15!)
He is filling a box with components from stores to feed a production line - says he's going to have a word to see if he can at least drive a forklift!
Men always get more excited over cars I find. As long as my car gets me from A to B without any hassle I am happy
Any Advice?!
Marmite Posted Sep 12, 2006
Nearly home time then,
'Its the final countdown...'
Forklifts are far more fun
My wife gets from A to B via every other letter in the alphabet

4 mins...
Oh no! I am going to have that dreadful Europe song going through my head all night now!!!
The scenic route is always best... I drive by instinct ... if it feels like I am driving in the right direction I keep going ... I bet you have spotted the obviously flaw in this mapless theory! I like DNA's theory that you should follow someone who looks like they know where they are going - you may not end up where you wanted to go but you will end up where you need to be (sorry, can't quote word for word... the shame!)
Going home now...
