I think the logo is shite. I also think "so what if it's shite? "
It's the Olympics. Not a Picture competition. F19585?thread=4227254&skip=0&show=20

Well, one thing they keep saying is that "this isn't going to be forgotten" and I guess they're right.
They're probably also starting a trend, even they're doing it in the most awful way. Now everyone will have to get in on the "animated brand" thing.

The animated film, the one that's been linked with epileptic seizures and so on...
Was it just me or did anyone else think - Queen, 'A Kind of Magic'?

Just caught up with this... it's crap. The logo, or brand or whatever it is. And it cost 40,000 pounds????
Give me strength...

Go to YouTube and do a search for it.
If it's any comfort, I'm interning in that line of business and don't get paid an eighth of that a year.

after I waded through a gazillion home made versions, porno-versions etc etc
oh my goodness
apart from how lame it is (if that's animated I'd love to see a static one)
the colours are totally mental
my daughter could do much better than that
(and it wouldn't be so bad if the second 2 wasn't so pathetic)

I just ran across this tidbit (from a few days ago) about the logo:
'Charity Epilepsy Action noted there had been reports that people had had seizures while watching the animated footage.'
from a reuters article:

Rains - Wondering where time's going and why it's in so much of a hurry! Posted Jun 11, 2007
It's just silly, isn't it? They spend all that money and then can't be bothered to run it through some tests to make sure it doesn't trigger seizures.
Mind you, they probably thought that if they showed it to someone before the proper unveiling, they'd probably collapse in a fit of laughter till they realised they were serious.
I can come up with something better - and I won't even charge £400k. Honest guv .

For only 100k I'd promise NOT come up with any kind of logo at all, AND I wouldn't ask for ANY more money. Now how's that for a deal?
