If they happen to be sentient drinks, they can probably answer that themselves. But then, only a coldhearted fool would drink sentient drinks, that can think and feel pain.

We may have wait a few millennia for the time when water will evolved a consciousness. Meanwhile, just be glad the water that you shower with doesn't make remarks about what it sees.
