Cheating? Not necessarily.
If the is only lurking, then he isn't posting, at least not in that thread. He *might* get together with his co-conspirators in another thread to plot strategy, but that still doesn't affect the thread that you want to see die a long-overdue death.
Most likely, the will forget to lurk because he'd rather .

Um, Red Dog, if you went to Fluffy Pink Rabbit's PS, you would see that he last posted three days ago (which would have been May 25). Yet you claimed that he posted yesterday (which would have been May 27).
Are you getting him mixed up with Apollo or Saturn Girl? Last time I checked, they were not fluffy, not pink, and not rabbits.

*biffs Paul round the back of the head*
Now as in "now he's posting on the 2002 thread - that's all I need" kind of now !

Please, Red Dog, he's just a harmless stuffed animal who has never hurt anyone.
Don't bother hitting me on the head. There's nothing left in there that can be hurt.

Red Dog talks in riddles, Saturn Girl. It takes me a very long time to figure out what he really means, and I usually end up with a .
The usually sleeps for four to six weeks at a time. When he *does* wake up, he usually has any number of silly ideas to act upon. If he *did* want to play in the 2002 thread, he's only make things livelier, though less predictable. I can't rpedict what will happen.
Anyway, thanks for coming along and making this a three-way conversation. I hate to see tied up, unless they are menaces. Red Dog is not a menace, except (maybe) to himself.

Oh, I'm always putting him in a collar and leash somewhere. He doesn't mind as long as I give him the right sort of attention in exchange.
But I would like to see you come back to the 2002 thread! It's lonely without you. I have to hug the thread more to keep it happy!

But why don't you and Apollo move over to *this* thread, Saturn Girl? Red Dog seems to actually *want* you here. Don't you want to make him happy?

...why just move over here when I can keep that thread alive too?

It's your life, I suppose. Do what you think is right.
With all the other threads you could post in, why do you feel duty bound to keep that one alive? I'm quite certain it's not because of my scintillating wit, as I haven't spent much time there since March.

*Pulls Paul aside. Speaks in a low voice*
Stop reading this, Red Dog - it's an aside to Paul. See - it says so right up there.
Paul - keeping the other thread alive is just a big joke. Red Dog trying to kill it is also a big joke. Both sides try to push the joke as far as they can. Similarly, posting on this thread is just an extension of that joke - i.e. now RD has 2 ever-expanding threads to complain about. So, you see, RD couldn't care less whether you keep your promise not to post there or not - it's all mock angst anyway.
Just thought you might like to know.
(And I see you there Red Dog, still reading. Bad !)

Whatever.
I'd like to push *this* conversation so that it rivals the 2002 one. After all, Red Dog asked us to post here instead of that other one, didn't he? He also worries that his H2G2 friends are dwindling. Maybe he's using too restrictive a definition of friends?
We're here for you, Red Dog! We're your friends!

His asking us to post here is part of the joke - i.e. it is an attempt to kill the other thread. Don't fall for it! Post in BOTH places.

*begins to suspect that Paul H. is actually part of a new, ever more devious plot by Red Dog to relieve himself of the 2002 thread*
You're getting more clever by the day Red...apparently some old dogs DO learn new tricks

I am not part of any plots, devious or otherwise. Nor did I conspire with Peter Bacanovic and Martha Stewart to conceal the motive for her ImClone trade. I did not bribe the Supreme Court to award the 2000 U.S. Presidential election to Shrub.
let's see, what other conspiracies have I not been part of? I had nothing to do with the Watergate breakin. Nor Teapot Dome. I did not sell Columbus an erroneous map of the Atlantic Ocean. I did not plant phony dinosaur bones to deceive people into disbelieving the Creationist truth about the earth being less than 7,000 years old.

Aha! So, by process of non-elimination, that means that you DID shoot Kennedy with a second gun. And you know where Jimmy Hoffa is! And shame on you for faking those moon landing pictures.
BTW, how's the Roswell aliens doing?
