Hi Catwoman!

It always is what they say it will be.
At least for the main course.
At least in essence.
Occasionally they give us rat-chicken.

Yummy. All of a sudden a formal with the Caius lot doesn't seem like such a good idea...
Hi Catwoman!
Catwoman Posted Nov 20, 2002
You're having a formal with our medics? Or a sporty thing? No, it's good, gets rather rowdy when they bring wine.
Don't forget to save up your pennies.
Hi Catwoman!
Dr Nick Posted Nov 20, 2002
Apparently my crew is arranging a formal with your womens 2nd VIII for next week. I've got a stash of pennies which I keep for such occassions!
Hi Catwoman!
Catwoman Posted Nov 21, 2002
You're on a crew?
Women's proper 2nd 8 (roman numerals? you're having a laugh!) or the novice boat? I have a bunch of friends on the first novice boat, but you won't find me getting up at 6.30 in the am.
Hi Catwoman!
Dr Nick Posted Nov 21, 2002
I'm in the college 1st IV. You've got to use roman numerals! It's a sporty thing - XV in rugby, XI in cricket... It will be the women's 2nd VIII proper (if it has been arranged), not the novice boat. I'm the baby of the seniors

Aww, you get to be in a real boat. Actually a 1st yr guy I know is in the 2nd mens boat (out of 2)
Hi Catwoman!
Dr Nick Posted Nov 23, 2002
It's quite cool, but I have started to coach and have decided I despise it. Having eight wining girls in a boat is just too much for me to take after a week of early morning outings...
Hi Catwoman!
Catwoman Posted Nov 23, 2002
Well stop making them do nasty things then! (so they won't whine)
(I have no sympathy, I have friends with blisters that bleed)
Hi Catwoman!
Dr Nick Posted Nov 23, 2002
I take it back about coaching - they gave me a bar of chocolate for coaching them today. I don't make them do nasty things and I try not to be mean to any of them. It's the cold and rain they don't like!
Hi Catwoman!
Dr Nick Posted Nov 24, 2002
True. I had forgotten about those. Fair enough point. I can see now why sensible people avoid it. Explains why I love it so much tho!
Hi Catwoman!
Dr Nick Posted Nov 25, 2002
You've got me there. Blisters suck but racing and messing around at the boat house are what makes it all worthwhile. Or so I keep telling myself...
Hi Catwoman!
Dr Nick Posted Nov 26, 2002
I haven't had a crew one yet - our one with you guys tomorrow has fallen through (I don't know who was arranging it), but judging from the state of people after other boatie formals it's something to look forward to!
Hi Catwoman!
Catwoman Posted Nov 26, 2002
Um, yeah, if you like that sort of thing. Less fun if you just happen to be in hall when it's happening, chances of having someone throw up on you (or being hit by flying food) are raised.
Hi Catwoman!
Catwoman Posted Nov 27, 2002
It's just more fun if you are the drunk people, rather than just being nearby.
