I've got some NatSci friends and they curse us when we go on about our lie-ins on a Saturday.

Well, it worked. Been ill and now have a mountain of work to do? Still, I get to row and go to the bar (probably a bit too frequently). How's you? Hope there are no 5th week blues at your end.

Not 5th week blues, just 'wish my mum was cooking for me' blues. Hall is not good.
Were you at the big noise thingy? It was very noisy.

Nah. Couldn't make it - would you believe I had work to do? Very inconsiderate. Know what you mean about a Mum's cooking. Mind you, I am now being taught to cook. Just watch out for Sidney burning down during the fire strike!

Forever known as the guy that wiped out an entire Cambridge college. Not a bad way to go... Would have been cool to have gone and made a big noise by Senate House but just too much work! Some of us don't have the sense to skip it.

I just got an email saying that the university has 'no plans to introduce top-up fees', so yay to that!

Thank God! 15 grand a year for six years... Makes me just thinking of it!

Very very nasty. Especially as I would have to leave if they asked for that much money. (or, in fact, any money)

I was pretty upset when they asked me for my tuition fees and my rent on the same day. Paying more money would severely cripple my bank balance!

Ah, yes. We don't get our bills (rent + food) till the end of this term/beginning of the next, so it looks like I have some money when I don't.
And we HAVE to eat in hall a cerrtain number of times a term, so food bill is gonna be big.

I've got this buttery card which they charge everything to - doesn't feel like I'm spending any money at all. Though I know when the bill comes next term it's going to hit hard! As far as I know though I don't have to have a minimum number of visits to hall...

Yeah, we get issued tickets to hall and told 'you're being charged for these whether you use them or not'.
But we don't have a KFC. (not chicken, if we had a KFC of the chickeny sort I would be happy)

Ah. That would explain it. We all have a KFC here but aren't required to go to Hall ever. My cooking skills are rapidly improving after tasting hall food, anything to avoid some of that gruel. Some is alright, but that's very, very rare...

And there's the difficulty of telling when hall is going to have a good day.

We have menus up for the week but when they do match up with what is on offer you can't tell what the standard is going to be!
