It is a very dry wine, which gets it's very distinctive flavour (you love it or hate it) from the resinous barrels in which it is matured.
You don't see much of it over here - normally in the more specialised wine merchants, or sometimes in Tesco on the top shelf, categorised under "other", which also means it is not the cheapest.
Should be extremely well chilled and accompanied by nibbles such as olives or sun-dried tomatoes.

My other half and I once polished off a bottle sitting on a Cornish cliff-top, overlooking a beach and learning our lines for our first attempt at am drams.

Hola Chiccita!
We donna forget de Mexicano!
Fajitas de pollo piquante, burritos, guacamole, chilli con carne are all very high on this super-hero's list of commestibles - washed down with a couple of bottles of Sol or Corona of course!

A good Mezcal Tequila works well as an appetiser though (that's the one with the worm in the bottle, for any casual readers).

i think we can all agree that one of the best ways of cooking food is on a barbecue! my RL self has just had one and has another one to go to in an hour. it's such a hard life .
by the way if any of you are interested in cooking any of these foods of which you speak then there is a lot of cooking equipment in those other cupboards. and an aga, if that's how you spell it. you know, big cooking thing that's always hot. you get them in big old houses.

Difficult to cook a good chilli on the BBQ - falls through the wire mesh. I'd better try the aga, but I've heard that there's quite a knack compared to an electric or gas oven.
I take it the aga also runs the central heating, so we'll be nice and cosy and I can curl up by a radiator in winter, purring and licking the chilli sauce from my paws (as well as those other bits cats tend to lick).
Anyone want to help with the cooking? I'm going to start by chopping up a nice large onion and sweating it slowly in some olive oil so that it just turns a lovely golden caramel colour.

I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT! STOP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING AND LISTEN!
*ahem* It turns out that I may not have done an extensive amount of research when pinkwrath and I were creating the League because during my wanderings i just came across C.H.O.P.P.E.R.S. and S.T.U.M.P.E.D. which are a super here and villain group respectively.
However it seems that no one has posted in the stumped threads for about 2 years and the only recent postings in the choppers threads were in May.
I am not sure what relevance this has to our current situation regarding the League but so far it doesn't seem to have posed a problem for us. If anyone knows a way in which it could be a problem then please let me know.

Thanks Guys
Galigan, I was thinking more of rice so could you perhaps find some in the cupboards? The Uncle Ben's variety is easiest and quite acceptable, but if it's normal long grain you'll need to measure out one cup of rice and two cups of water per person for the absorbtion method.
Pinkwrath, could you check out the red kidney bean situation and if we've got some give them a good rinse and put them to soak in a basin? One large tin should be enough.
Other ingredients we need are garlic, chillis and of course some fairly lean minced beef. Better find out how many we're expecting - about half a pound per person is plenty.
If the new membership drive takes off, we'll need lots.
*pours out 3 glasses of wine to help with the prep work*
Let me know if you think anything else will enhance the flavour. Somebody might have to go down the shops.
