I think Henny Penny has the sort of life any hen would envy: free food, no work requirements, and a nest among petunias.

Henny Penny is fine. She is a wiley bird though... she likes to hang around the back yard and scratch around in the flower beds for bugs but has yet to lay more eggs for us.

Chances are, she's laying eggs *somewhere*. If she's found a boy friend, you could have more Henny Pennies.

the chances of her being here are so astronomical I doubt a rooster would show up as well..

I'm sure she's laying her eggs somewhere as well, I just have no idea where that might be. Maybe she's selling them for pin money.

But of all the houses she could have picked, she picked yours.

So she needs to realize chicken feed and holly trees aren't free!! One payment of 3 eggs is simply not enough..

Did she actually *demand* that you feed her corn, or did you volunteer to do it?

Did she make any kind of promise that she'd continue laying eggs in that window box?

If you stop feeding her, does she promise not to try other houses till she finds someone else that will feed her?

Not with the heat we have here of late... though you'd be able to smell the mail carrier a block or so away..

On the other hand I like the UPS lady - she keeps dog biscuits in her truck and always brings one to

our postie is really old, Don't know how he manages to lift the bag! and every so often this tiny little blonde lady postman comes, I think when the old guy is on holiday. Makes me wonder how she manges to lift the bag too.

Its njot a job that I would like - the heavy bags - I find it bad enough taking my mobile office arround with me! Mind you sometimes the postie gets to spend time talking to people - that would be good

Here most have trucks that they stay in and the post boxes are all at the street so they can put the mail in without getting out of their truck.
