Brings back memories of the good old days - Handel's Messiah, Hyden's Creation, Carmina Burana and so on. Anyway, can I join? Will Jenkins, Tenor.

As you can see I've just started working on the page. Right now I'm doing a repertoire-list. Are the works mentioned in your post proposals???

I need to sing...! Let me in, I promise not to laugh and I 've got quite a good Tenor voice, apparently!
As to repetoire...what of the Glorious Ninth, A? A? It's a MUST!!
Beethoven won't just be rolling, he'll be positively spinning if his meister work ain't in!!
Gi'us a clue, and I'll stick up the logo and link to my page, if that's OK?
Sing to you soon,
TheOkapi.

Welcome TheOkapi - Scout, Muse, Tenor
Why do you promise not to laugh??? I sure hope you will!!! *laughs *
As for the logo, I think we should wait a little. The picture currently on the page is one I stole somewhere, and I don't like it very much. If someone could create a new one it would be fine!
WJ, I believe that you mean Orff's Carmina Burana, not the old songs, right?

Aye, that I do. I sang in St. David's Hall in Cardiff once, and ITV filmed it. They have yet to show it though, and this was 3 years ago, but hey, it was fun.

Jenny and Fred the cheese Posted Oct 3, 2000
oh, my choir closed down since they didn't have a lot of people. I'm not all that good but if you need more females now you can always drop me later. I can do alto or soprano.

You are very welcome! (Drop you? No, it's too late to even try leaving now, he he! )
Will Jenny do? Or is it Jenny and Fred as one soprano (that's the most needed right now!)? - Or Jenny as soprano and Fred as freak ?
Thank you for joining!

You can call me TC Posted Oct 7, 2000
I am pleased to see Will Jenkins in the choir - I have to make it up to him, although he doesn't know it. I was given a new U number when all I wanted was to register a new e-mail address. Well I've learned to live with that now, and poor old Ottox has had an earful of of it all - he's been a real brick altogether. Anyway, when I started up the new page, I was impersonally and anonymously greeted by said WJ. Although my page clearly stated (I've made it even clearer now - one has one's pride!) that I'd been around a long time.
And there's nothing like making music together to patch up - so no hard feelings. There - and you didn't even know who I was, did you WJ? and there was me having sleepless nights because of you.
Why are there so few (like just me and Fred so far) women???
What can we do with the set up we've got?

`Thank you.
Where can I find your wise words on such things as tea and espresso - or are these Patron Saint titles all empty words. And sorry, I am trespassing on the choir's time here - but choristers are known chatterers. And in choir practice you never get a chance to chat with the other voices.

Empty words are not something I've been know to do . My history of tea is to be found at http://www.h2g2.com/A349706 . Anything else just ask. I'm not that hot (sic) on espresso, but I know a thing or three.

Dearest Ottox!!! You have convinced me to sign up for the Choral Society(and you can advertise in the Bacchus Bar, where there seems to be a great deal of advertising...
I specialize in BEATLE tunes, Joni Mitchell, off-the-wall songs, etc... And I assume I am an Alto(my Mommy, who is a soprano, says so, and she sings higher than I can... but maybe I can play both parts!!!)....
I also bring to your lovely society the services of the Musehome!!!! SOMEday(can't say when just yet), I'll have Calliope Stage open, where you are most welcome to perform...!!!!
In the meantime, please use the Uterpe Concert Hall for Woodwinds(it's barely been practiced in, sadly) if you need a new place to rehearse!!! http://www.h2g2.com/A427385

I'm here and I'm about to start a massive posting campaign for my German site which will soon be finished (hope that's allowed) I could tag on a Choral Society link and we might get a Christmas concert going after all.
*starts to practise the alto part of the Christmas Oratorio* .... BTW should we sing that in English or German, provided we decide to anyway??

Hi TC and Ottox!
I would like to sign up as a mezzo soprano, please.
In my earlier days I was singing in a scout choir in Warsaw. The interesting thing: our boss was a soloist at the Warsaw Opera House, so we had our rooms there and also sung in operas like Bizet's 'Carmen', Wagner's 'Tannhäuser' (BTW: the only Wagner opera I really like), Musorgski's 'Boris Godunov', Puccini's 'Tosca'. We sung also some medieval madrigals like this written by Orlando Di Lasso.
It was really fun and my memories of this 7 years are just wonderful.
Please take the above also as proposals. Additionally: what about Bach's Fuge Nr.3?
Key: Complain about this post
