Great idea, but we then have to have a time-limit for bringing new things and for voting.
Ask Malabarista about the pcs, maybe she can tell you.
What do you want to do when you've finished school? Any ideas already?

Where is Malabarista? Without her threats the Pond has become a leisure centre and the chickens are running riot!
I will ask when she returns...
Ah! Scary question! I don't know. i keep thinking of a degree in French and Maths, but then what do I do? I have no desire to become a teacher, seems like far too much work to me. Marking takes up all your time, your frees get taken away and we student are too hard to control. My mum has totally put me off.

A girl which lived with her and her friend moved out. They found out that she left them a big telephone bill and so they can't go online so often now.
My dad is a teacher too, I never wanted to become one either.
BTW: I shall translate a few easy things you need in every conversation for Kat (things like "you know"...), but I just can't think of any... please help!

Do you mean like handy phrases to use in the German Speaking thread?
Er.. well, ones I use often
What does that mean?
Help!
I don't understand.
Where's my towel?
Phew
..which means..
I agree/disagree
What do you think?
That's right!
That's very funny
I know/don't know (both kennen and weissen)
Er... how about question words- Where?Who?What? How?Which? How many?
Good idea.
How's that for a start? If you do a list, please copy it for me too
What does he teach? My mum does French (which explains a lot), my dad IT(ditto)
I broadband. And parents.

Thanks!
You can see it in the beginners thread now
it is wissen, not weissen, weißen is Austrian for painting a wall white
Ich weiße die Wand.
My dad teaches German and Geography.

oops
But you still say, Ich weisse for I know, right? I'm on a German site now, trying to better myself, lol, but it's only little vocab game
What does Betrieb mean?<huh?
No Subject
Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor Posted Jun 9, 2005
Is is "ich weiß"
Betrieb can mean: business, firm, company, factory; operation, running (außer Betrieb - not working, out of order); activity, bustle, hevy traffic
it can mean many things, I don't know for which one you search; is there a sentence or only the word?
Tomorrow evening I'll see the Hitchhiker! We found cinema which shows the original version and it's early enough for me to get home afterwards.

Woo! Have a great time ooo, and see if you can remember the words to the song at the start...or rather, see if you can get it out of your head afterwards, it's virtually impossible.
Right. Ich weiss. So, all this time, I've been painting things white? oh dear
Erm, it could be business or factory- it was from a vocab list about work places.

Thanks, I'll certainly have a great time!
I don't think that anybody else thought of painting, because I don't think that they say it outside of Austria.
That's a very bad word to put into a vocabulary quizz, I've got no idea which one they mean.

Tell me about it: and you're a native!i had no chance really.
thank-you for your discretion in keeping my embarrassing mistake quiet. it is appreciated.

No, you had no chance. That's why I say: bad quizz, they should know that it's impossible.
Where is that page? I'll make a test

I don't understand; do you mean the vocab quiz page? unfortunately it's under password, which i'm not allowed to give to you- it's from my mum's school. I'm gutted about this, because there was actually a cool little frog there, who would love to visit the pond

Oh, I liked it, really. Only Zaphods head wasn't right and Marvin doesn't really fit either, although he was better than I thought. An there was a bit too little improbability drive...
I haven't lisened again yet either, but I fear I won't have time to do it until Tuesday, shortly before the new one comes. I hope I'll have time then.

I understand, but you should know that DNA wrote it all. He came up with the new head- the one in the Tv. series looked so awful, it had to go, lol- and the Trillin- Arthur romance too. He thought that was what had been keeping it from Hollywood before. No, I agree about Marvin, but you have to admit, he does actually have a head the size of a small planet!
What did you think of the Zaphod actor?
No Subject
Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor Posted Jun 12, 2005
Yes, head the size of a planet.
I agree with what he looked like I think, but the personality wasn't right. I don't imagine Zaphod as that kind of "wahooo", if you know what you mean. Of course he is, but he isn't that silly kind of cool. He was too much Austin Powers.
What do you say?
No Subject
Vamster Posted Jun 12, 2005
Oo, I don't know I think he got the personality pretty much dead on, although now i think about it, Zaphod in his early stages is much more relaxed and...froody But he is very irresponsible
what did you think of Martin Freeman, aka Arthur Dent?
which reminds me, my evil sis has found a H2G2 game...http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=10824
