Fire starting birds.

Is that what angry birds grow up to become?

I wouldn't like to be the Fire-starting Birds when the North Belfast News's cover girl gets her hands on them. Brace yourselves, everybody - it's Pipe Bomb Mum! smiley - yikes

"Ecstatic Meadow Hungry For Major Win".

This was one of those ones I didn't even understand when I read it, but it turns out that "Ecstatic Meadow" is some woman who plays golf.

McLaren supercar crash man

Not much call for this one, I suspect, what with McLaren only having made 106 of them and it no longer being in production, and who would want to smash up a car that costs as much as that... unless you're working an insurance fiddle smiley - evilgrin

No, he's someone I'd want to keep well away from my F1.

Ah, yes. Reminds me of Bugatti Supercar Crash Man. This happened just down the road from me on the road between Galveston Island and the mainland a few years ago.

Telegraph pole-crush man

A superpower in diminishing demand I would think, what with phone lines being replaced with underground fibre-optic cables, and the ubiquitous cellphone.

And who calls them telegraph poles these days anyway? They were telephone poles when I was a kid, 50 years ago.

I say sue them under the trades description act, if the pole doesn't have open line wires on porcelain insulators with Needle telegraph machines at both ends of the lines smiley - smiley

Even Better
Kent online includes a photo of what is plainly a Leccy Pole not even a Telephone one. smiley - smiley

Be on the lookout for Google Death Woman. smiley - hero

BBC declared "Google Death Woman 'not guilty'" even though Google Death Woman has only plead not guilty.

"A woman alleged to be a prostitute pleads not guilty to injecting a Google executive with a lethal dose of heroin on his yacht."

The article also contains this rather exclamatory sentence, "Police in Santa Cruz say Ms Tichelman did not render first aid or call an ambulance after Mr Hayes fell unconscious on board the yacht, Escape."

Yep, that's about par for the course with the BBC these days - put something in a headline and word in such a way that it looks factual, but put it in inverted commas (not proper quotation marks) so that when you go to the story itself the bit in quotes turns out to be one small detail that's far from the fact suggested in the headline. I've pointed one or two of those out on Twotter where the headline and the detail completely contradict each other smiley - facepalm

Naturally, I didn't keep a record and I'm sure as hell not going back through months and months of postings.

As for the other story, I've only got one thing to say about that...

It's been a bit quiet around here just lately - the superheroes must taking their summer holidays. Here's one though - Knife hidden in bra killer.

Descriptive, I'll give her that, but not very catchy. It hardly trips off the tongue, does it.
