Well, we got the storms (so did you, BG). Yep, we did. I woke up at around 4.30am, just because that's what I do. Then I tried to get back to sleep. The, at about 5am, the storms arrived with much thunder, and they lasted for more than an hour. So no, I didn't get back to sleep

My power went out for a few hours at 5:30am. Since I'm working at home and can't work without power, I considered it a good reason to sleep in until the lights came back on to wake me. My dog is scared of thunder so she didn't mind staying in later either.

Well, this is the Gulf Coast, so we're all used to long outages, sometimes weeks. Most homeowners have a generator or two. I'd love to have one of those instant on, natural gas systems, but they're way expensive.

Yesterday was definitely a weather day. Recordings of anything from 2" to 7" of rain and half a dozen or so confirmed tornadoes in the region. Camp Mabry got 2.37" and the airport got 2.73", in both cases, mostly in the morning and early afternoon. And it looks like Saturday might be a repeat performance. Well, May is, statistically, the wettest month of the year.
