We did pretty much break all the records yesterday - 87F/30.6 downtown, and only a degree or two cooler at Mabry and the airport. That's getting on for 30°F above normal for the time of year.

Only a mere 80/26.7 today. Pshaw smiley - tongueout

I really should have been keeping on top of this thread. I heard on the wireless receiving device this morning that yesterday (Thursday) was the first day so far this year that we *haven't* set a new high temperature record for the date. Today and tomorrow are likely to be more in line with average temps for the time of year, but we will be nudging those records on Sunday when it gets into the high 70s/low 80s again.

Very heavily overcast this morning but still unseasonably warm - currently 65F/18.3C and we have a forecast of mid 70s F/low 20s C this afternoon... and rain!

Well, you know me - I'll believe it when I see it.

I've realised in the past few days that this winter is shaping up a lot like the first winter I was here in Austin - mild and sunny. And we had a real good storm season the following spring smiley - bigeyes

It's happening again.

All day long there's been steady rain in surrounding counties, and throughout much of Texas... but not in Travis county. The bands of rain just seem to part as they reach the county line and come together again after they pass.

I really don't get it smiley - huh

I'm not a very good smiley - geek but it's probably that forcefield you've got erected over your building...or summat smiley - tongueout

We had a weird sky tonight - the sort of colour it goes just before a thunder storm...but no storm. I did see a reddish sky though - surely it can't be 'shepherd's delight' tomorrow - it's far too smiley - brr at the momentsmiley - erm!

We did actually get some rain smiley - biggrin

Just at the moment I stepped out of the door to go and catch a bus smiley - cross

Which didn't arrive because I'd forgotten that yesterday was a public holiday and the buses were running to a less frequent timetable and I had to wait for 45 minutes smiley - steam In the wind and the rain smiley - grr

Cos I didn't realise until I'd been there for 25 minutes that it was a holiday

It rained smiley - biggrin I missed most of it though cos it rained during the night smiley - sadface Got woken up at least once by a clap of thunder. Camp Mabry got about 0.4" I think, but only 0.2 downtown.

It's still raining a bit and it's chilly - mid 40s F.

Rain, and lots of it smiley - biggrin Almost half an inch since midnight. And it started raining well after midnight cos I didn't get home from work until 12.30am, it was another hour before I went to bed, and it still wasn't raining then. In fact I looked at the radar before I turned off the PC and the rain was still way up in northwest Texas.

Ice - and lots of it, plus sparkly, frosty pavements. Cold all day and even colder tonight when we walked to the next village for a meal at the pub smiley - brr

Busy plotting our trip to the USA - looks like the Boston area this time.

I reckon neither of you are particularly interested in knowing that following a very grey, rainy (yes, we had more rain smiley - biggrin), dismal day yesterday, and a rather foggy, misty night, it's a beautiful sunny day, on a par with the most gorgeous of June days in the UK smiley - tongueout

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

It rained overnight here - probably just what was needed, as we have warnings of drought - this early in the year!
