Coming Unstitched
Posted Aug 10, 2009
The stitches came out today They were itching like . Three in my arm, where they took the spare tendon from and eight in the base of my thumb.
I've got a groovy black plaster cast on now for another four weeks ish but I still can't do
It's no wonder I was aching like hell, the back of my hand is still black and blue; the very nice plastercaster who 'did' me says it's because of the backslab I'd had on for the last fortnight. At least I can move my fingers more now so I'm back to stiching with a vengeance.
I've given the very nice <doctor) who did my hand 7/10 for his stitching skills. I'll have to hold a masterclass at the hospital

Rebore & Decoke Revisited

this journal's turning into a medical diary!
At the other local hospital today, the Mysterious Consultant has decided that as my left femoral artery is the more seriously affected that's the one that's being done first. He's of the opinion that the right one might clear once I'm more mobile again.
The good news is that the rest of the vascular system seems trouble free and that as my blood pressure and cholesterol reading are now in the low range (I nearly fainted as I got up from the couch too quickly) he's blaming it on the metabolic syndrome & diabetes.
The hand's improving too, I went back to the dressing clinic yesterday and the stitches are healing very well and the new plaster has helped mobility, I've even managed to put a few stitches in the wedding sampler I've designed for a friend's daughter still can't do that though

Plastered
Posted Jul 30, 2009
and feeling rather tender, the bone's in the bin and the fingers on my left hand look like burnt sausages .
I came through the op without too much effect on the old blood sugar level in spite of the orderly trying to press a trifle onto me .
So for the next few weeks please excuse any typos, but I'm doing it all one-handedly

How to Loose Weight

OK, I know it won't be a lot, but I'm having the trapezoid bone taken out of my left hand tomorrow. Same thing as I had done on the right hand a few years ago.
Didn't think I'd have to have the left one done for ages if at all, but that stoopid girl who t-boned me 15 months ago has put paid to that .
One armed again, I'll probably be back tomorrow night

Blast From the Past

Went to see Jeff Beck at the Manchester Apollo last night. Hard to believe that this is the same person responsible for 'Hi Ho Silver Lining'
A great concert of Jazz Fusion, Hard Rock and almost Baroque.
The bass player he has with him at the moment a young girl called Tal, I think from Australia, is marvelous.
Being so used to the MEN arena, I'd forgotten how intimate the Apollo can be.
Great night
