Brave to the end, Mom didn't loose her sense of humour. Her last words were to me just after my brother had accidentaly twanged her with the elastic on her oxygen mask. 'Don't worry, bring me my catapult, I'll get him back tomorrow'. It's going in her coffin.

Mom's been taken into the local hospice today. She's got another chest infection and is rough. Pa can't cope due to his own failing health and the medication Mom's on is causing her to become confused. At least I hope it's the meds.
I'll know more tomorrow when I've spoken to the hospice and they've had chance to assess her.

Good News for a Change

Grandad works in food distribution and his company had notice, a couple of months ago, that one of their contracts was not going to be renewed.
He's just rung to tell me that the company have won another contract, larger than the one they've lost
It means that when I'm made redundant soon (again), I don't have to straight back onto the agencies but can try and set up my own business from home

That's my Mom that is
She's been to get marked up for her radiotherapy.
When #1 son had radiotherapy they used blue marker pen to deliniate the area to be 'zapped' but they've tattooed Mom and she reckons it's a permanent job .
I've already asked her if she's going the full Ozzy route & Pa's suggesting other parts she could have done.
Do you think that at 77 she's too old for some body piercings as well

Crossed Fingers

Mom should be out of hospital on Monday. Her oncologist did say it could be up to a fortnight, but as their bungalow is already adapted from when Mom had her hips replaced, it's just a matter of arranging for a carer morning & night .
Next Thursday she's probably going to Coventry Walsgrave Hospital for a large zap of radiotherapy and we'll take it from there.
Pa sounds so happy - he did want the OT's to arrange for a floor to ceiling pole next to the bath for Mom, but they've told him she won't be up for pole dancing just yet
It will be so good to have her back in her own territory
