Brave to the end, Mom didn't loose her sense of humour. Her last words were to me just after my brother had accidentaly twanged her with the elastic on her oxygen mask. 'Don't worry, bring me my catapult, I'll get him back tomorrow'. It's going in her coffin.

Thanks all she will be missed.

The funeral's next Thursday. Mom's asked for a lovely reading, it's a story called 'Waterbugs & Dragonflies. I've got some pictures for the younger great-grandchildren to colour in and created some letter head for the older children to write notes for her, and they're going in the coffin along with mom's catapult.

I've also spent time sorting out the Order of Service and gathering the music mom wants to be played, Nimrod from Elgar's Enigma Variations, a particular favourite and very apt for a Worcestershire cremation, To be a Pilgrim, Bunyan's words, not the newer version (she particularly wanted the verse about the Hobgoblins left in for the LotR & Harry Potter loving great-grandchildren) and then bearing in mind our family dislike for C & W music, she's asked for 'Whispering Hope' by Jo Stafford & Gordon McRea. Lovely words but....... She said it would get people out of the Crematorium in double quick time.

I'm really going to miss mom's dry sense of humour.
