*Sending* money's always free. There's a charge to receive funds from a credit card, though.
If we weren't flat broke and trying to scrape up funds for Faith and I to visit my grandma in a couple months, I'd sponser...
Though if it could be just a little, and if Amy+ sponsered too, then all 3 active h2g2 Amys would be on on the team *ponders*

Amy P and Lil are, between them, quite correct, Smudger. Personal PayPal accounts are free as long as you don't receive money from credit cards. You need to get the people paying you to do an electronic transfer from their bank or pay from their own PayPal account. It is all quite straightforward really. I suggest you read the Help pages on the PayPal website. I think you can't pay or receive more than £500 in one transaction and you aren't allowed to hold more than £1000 in the account.
Amy P it is very sweet of you to want to sponsor me . I'm not expected people to offer huge sums - 1 or 2 dollars perhaps. However, you might want to wait for bigger events next year - if my legs hold out. I haven't really sought overseas support because the charities I've been collecting for have not been well known outside the UK. I think if Team Ant does something bigger it would be good to choose causes with a more global appeal.

The none war efforts perhaps?

You mean anti-war protests? I'd be looking for something much less political - Wateraid or UNICEF, for instance.

no I didn't mean anti-war, I was thinking of things that help the aftermath.
Or you could do cancer, or old people, or young people, or poor people.
millions of choices.

Wateraid and Sight Savers are two charities that really know what they are about. Both make a huge difference to lives, water and sight are two such basic things that the majority of us are lucky enough to take for granted.
Of course, there are many other admirably charities also doing excellent work, No1 brother is on the board of a charity that sends engineers to earthquakes and other disaster zones for example.
In fact it would hard to pick out just one really.

I've just watched a tv programme about the children that Sport Relief is helping. I cried nearly all the way through.
If anyone wants to sponsor me for the mile through Paypal, just go to the Paypal website and type in any one of my email addresses. Follow the instructions and then post here so that I can put your name on my running number.
Thanks .

I've just done my last long run before my 5k race next Wednesday and the sponsored mile on Saturday 10 July. It was a really nice run - I went a completely different route from usual, which meant it was a bit hilly but I hardly noticed. It did rain a bit though but I was wearing my pink hat just in case of hailstones. Hail is not good for ants.
I'll do a short run - one lap of the 5k course - on Sunday and then a practice mile on Monday and that's it! Rest and eating sensibly should do the business.
I've decided that I can't do a 10k on 1 August: it's too close to the second of the series of three 5k races I've entered. I'll look for a 10k in September and perhaps a Half Marathon later in the Autumn. Possibly Liverpool. I must talk to Granny Weatherwax.
