smiley - wow the bass is back. With ten billion times more bass and ten billion times more Jazz-master style trebble than I thought possible smiley - wow I must* must* buy one of these neat little Bass EQ boxes, yamaha I think it is... apparently they're about £75 new smiley - wah Guest/handy man has just picked the washburn up from the studeo, muttering something about how lazy I am in having fitte dthe Floyd rose but failed to set the intination up properly smiley - wowsmiley - cool strange actually... bought the new trem for it last time he was here, fitted it myself but lost the will to live with the stupid fiddly method of altering the intination smiley - doh he's more patience and expertize in such things than me smiley - coolsmiley - wow Just pumped the marshal up a bit and ran the Guild through it smiley - lovesmiley - love I've nearly* changed my mind about that guitar....Still think £2K is a lot too much for a guitar of the electric variaty, but its really got a loverly loverly sound.... pity about its balance, bit loaded weight wise towards the right hand side so it doesn't always sit totally comfetabably on ones lap... damn its heavy too smiley - droolsmiley - erm beer? someone say beer? whisky? someone say whisky? red wine? who said red wine? should I make biriani tonight?

Innit just. You're right you know, the intonation on a Floyd Rose is a pain. In fact everything about setting up a Floyd Rose is a pain. I'd still like a guitar with one fitted though!

I'm getting all excited about the Cubase bundle and PC - I can't really bring myself to do anything with the Cubase LE on this lappy.

I need to sort out some sort of desk. I'm contemplating a couple of drawer units and a large lump of wood: way cheaper than pre-pack stuff.

I dunno, I got some pretty reasonable and nice desk type affairs from Staples including the giant just abig desk in teh front room which is as solid ... as a really solid thing smiley - erm I'm still ahving trubble getting a decent guitar sound recorded, its the main thing holding me up in getting stuff done, I've a fair few amp mods that will do a half decent distortion overdrive type thing, but not a nice clean blues sounding kinda tube warm thinggy smiley - ermsmiley - doh vaguely close though so I might actually do a bit of recordign some time soon that I don't then immediately scrap away smiley - dohsmiley - dohsmiley - doh Ooops! think I might have put a 'dink' into the headstock of the guild smiley - blushsmiley - grovel

E6300 dual core processor, 2 gig ram, 250 gig hard drive (I've already got a second external drive which I'll take from the lappy), Windoze Media Centre with a remote control, Freeview card and stuff, 19" monitor (which I'll upgrade when 22" monitors are cheaper so I can ditch the telly), all from an online place that build 'em as you want 'em and don't fill 'em with Norton nonsense!

The Cubase is bundled with a 4 input USB interface (with, by all accounts, rather sweet mic preamps) and is the cut-down Cubase 4. Oddly the interface bundle with the SL3 to Cubase Studio 4 upgrade costs £50 less than Cubase Studio 4 on it's own. Go figure.

I might have a look at Stables but need something bigger than a normal computer desk - there's a telly, amp, DVD recorder and various other bits that need to go on it.
